This chapter describes the work undertaken by European Lifelong Guidance Policy Network, ELGPN during 2007-15, including the progress of lifelong guidance policy adaptation and implementation processes of the member countries at national, regional and local levels. In an evaluation of ELGPN’s work, members report that participation in the Network enriched their awareness of possible responses to common challenges and given them fresh perspectives and new insights into their national provision. We examine the realization of the umbrella promise to assume national responsibility for the final disposal of spent nuclear fuel. Three case studies are used to illustrate how Finland delivers on the promise to take care of its own nuclear waste - a promise that has greatly contributed to the legitimacy of nuclear power in Finland. The article shows how this promise is being challenged by new competitors, business visionaries, and the public. The case studies illustrate the tensions between those who made the promise and the actors who interpret and mobilize the promise for varying purposes and under changing circumstances. Breakfast consumption and its socio-demographic and lifestyle correlates in schoolchildren in 41 countries participating in the HBSC study

Objective: To investigate associations of daily breakfast consumption (DBC) with demographic and lifestyle factors in 41 countries. Methods: Design: Survey including nationally representative samples of 11–15 year olds (n = 204,534) (HBSC 2005–2006). Statistics: Multilevel logistic regression analyses Results: DBC varied from 33 % (Greek girls) to 75 % (Portuguese boys). In most countries, lower DBC was noticed in girls, older adolescents, those with lower family affluence and those living in single-parent families. DBC was positively associated with healthy lifestyle behaviours and negatively with unhealthy lifestyle behaviours. peerReviewed

This paper deals with convergence analysis of the extended Kalman filters (EKFs) for sensorless motion control systems with induction motor (IM). An EKF is tuned according to a six-order discrete-time model of the IM, affected by system and measurement noises, obtained by applying a first-order Euler discretization to a six-order continuous-time model. Some properties of the discrete-time model have been explored. Digitalisaatio on ajankohtainen puheenaihe kouluissa ja se nousee esille myös uusissa opetussuunnitelmissa. Tämän tutkielman tarkoituksena oli selvittää lukioikäisten opiskelijoiden kokemuksia digitalisaatiosta ruotsinkielen oppitunneilla. Tavoitteena oli selvittää mitä mieltä oppilaat ovat älylaitteiden käytöstä ruotsinkielen tunneilla ja miten niitä voitaisiin hyödyntää suullisen kielitaidon harjoittelussa. Tutkimukseen osallistui yhteensä 33 lukiolaista ja se toteutettiin syksyn 2017 aikana kyselylomakkeen avulla. Lomake koostui sekä avoimista kysymyksistä että monivalintaväittämistä.
