Super-orthogonal space-time trellis codes with differential phase modulation for noncoherent mobile communication systems

In this paper, we show how to design super-orthogonal space-time trellis codes (SOSTTCs) using the differential binary phase-shift keying (PSK) modulation for noncoherent communication systems, for which the knowledge of the channel state information (CSI) at the receiver is not necessary. Moreover, a new decoding algorithm with reduced decoding complexity is proposed. In all simulations, a geometric two-ring channel model is employed to evaluate the performance of the SOSTTCs. Predictive models for energy saving in Wireless Sensor Networks

ICT devices nowadays cannot disregard optimizations toward energy sustainability. Wireless Sensor Networks, in particular, are a representative class of a technology where special care must be given to energy saving, due to the typical scarcity and non-renewability of their energy sources, in order to enhance network lifetime. In our work we propose a novel approach that aims to adaptively control the sampling rate of wireless sensor nodes using prediction models, so that environmental phenomena can be consistently modeled while reducing the required amount of transmissions; the approach is tested on data available from a public dataset.

The aim of the present work is to study experimentally the formation of the capillary during the drilling and welding by laser beam and to develop the numerical simulation which allows following the dynamics and the evolution of the keyhole.
