Der Band fasst aktuelle Theorieperspektiven und Forschungsbefunde zur Bedeutung von Körpern, Objekten und Räumen in der interdisziplinären Kindheitsforschung zusammen. Es wird gezeigt, in welchem Maße diese Materialitäten daran mitwirken, dass sich bestimmte gesellschaftliche Kindheitsmuster und -erfahrungen ausbilden und wie material die Positionierungs- und Subjektivierungsprozesse von Kindern als Kinder gedacht werden müssen.

This papers aims to present the opinions of 54 kindergarten pupils from Public Kindergarten in Chrząstowice in the Opolskie province regarding how they understand and interpret the concept of happiness. The pupils were asked a number of questions regarding happiness, being happy and/or unhappy, situations when they are either happy or unhappy. The research material was further subjected to a qualitative analysis.

(2005); Am J Hum Genet 77:958-965] reported paternal over-transmission of risk alleles in some ADHD-associated genes. This was particularly clear in the case of the DAT1 3'-UTR VNTR. In the current investigation, we analyzed three new sample comprising of 1,248 ADHD nuclear families to examine the allelic over-transmission of DAT1 in ADHD. The article reflects on kindergartens’ specificity, focusing on the intersubjective perspective. By this perspective, the developement and the construction of the Self can’t be separated from the perception of the “other” and it is a process working, since birth, through an “embodied relationship”. According to the infant research and the neurosciences studies, the article analyzes the quality of the relationships between adults and children and explores how it can affect personality development, self-image, and learning processes. Finally, the professional skills necessary for educators in kindergartens are deepened, looking at the needs of the children during their first years.

Abstract: After the dawn of the traditional, essentialist view of natural kinds in contemporary philosophy (exacerbated in philosophy of biology by “population thinking”), non-essentialist cluster conceptions of natural kinds have been extensively supported and applied to numerous biological categories. However, salient philosophers have put forward two challenging arguments against cluster kind theories. I argue that, in both cases, discontent with a cluster conception of natural kinds is motivated by tacit and previous assumptions that can be challenged. Many studies investigated cultural differences in values, most notably by Hofstede and Schwarz. Relatively few have focused on virtues, a related and important concept in contemporary social science. The present paper examines the similarities and differences between nations, or blocks of - culturally related - nations on the perceived importance of virtues.
