Guideline for Optical Optimization of Planar Perovskite Solar Cells

2019

Organometallic halide perovskite solar cells have emerged as a versatile photovoltaic technology with soaring efficiencies. Planar configuration in particular, has been a structure of choice thanks to its lower temperature processing, compatibility with tandem solar cells and potential in commercialization. Despite all the breakthroughs in the field, the optical mechanisms leading to highly efficient perovskite solar cells lack profound insight. In this paper, a comprehensive guideline is introduced involving semi-analytical equations for thickness optimization of the front and rear transport layers, perovskite, and transparent conductive oxides to improve the antireflection and light trapp…

Ecosystem Architecture Management in the Public Sector : From Problems to Solutions

2019

Based on our research concerning enterprise architecture (EA) in the Finnish public sector, we discuss how EA concept and tool need to be developed to support government business ecosystem and organization design. Our research context indicates, beyond a federal government or a state one, that even a single municipality, like a city concern, can be perceived as an ecosystem of its sectoral domains, subsidiaries and such. We outline a vision of an overall ontology-based, shared EA repository for the-whole-of-government current state descriptions and specify the central design principles and functional requirements for such a system, illustrating some potential use cases of it. Based on inter…

Tectonic models for accretion of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt

2007

The Central Asian Orogenic Belt ( c . 1000–250 Ma) formed by accretion of island arcs, ophiolites, oceanic islands, seamounts, accretionary wedges, oceanic plateaux and microcontinents in a manner comparable with that of circum-Pacific Mesozoic–Cenozoic accretionary orogens. Palaeomagnetic and palaeofloral data indicate that early accretion (Vendian–Ordovician) took place when Baltica and Siberia were separated by a wide ocean. Island arcs and Precambrian microcontinents accreted to the active margins of the two continents or amalgamated in an oceanic setting (as in Kazakhstan) by roll-back and collision, forming a huge accretionary collage. The Palaeo-Asian Ocean closed in the Permian with…

From Maya Blue to “Maya Yellow”: A Connection between Ancient Nanostructured Materials from the Voltammetry of Microparticles

2011

The yellow hue of a series of samples from wall paintings in several Mayan archaeological sites can be attributed to the presence of indigoid compounds, including isatin and dehydroindigo, attached to palygorskite, a local phyllosilicate clay. SEM/EDX, TEM, UV/Vis spectroscopy, and voltammetry of microparticles show that the ancient Mayas could prepare indigo, Maya Blue, and "Maya Yellow" during successive stages. Effect of cation disorder on the magnetic properties ofSr2Fe1−xGaxReO6(0<x<0.7)double perovskites

2007

The effect of diamagnetic dilution of the Fe sublattice on the structural and magnetic properties of the double perovskite Sr{sub 2}Fe{sub 1-x}Ga{sub x}ReO{sub 6} (0 =}0.4 is detected by x-ray structural analysis accompanied by the observation of a magnetically ordered and a paramagnetic phase in the corresponding Moessbauer spectra. Below 20% Ga content, Ga statistically dilutes the -Fe-O-Re-O-Fe- double-exchange pathways. Phase separation begins at 20% Ga substitution; between 20% and 40% ofmore » Ga content, the paramagnetic Ga-based phase does not contain any Fe. The Fe-containing, paramagnetic cubic phases which can be detected by Moessbauer spectroscopy first appear for x=0.4.« less

Development and validation of the Brief Parental Burnout Scale (BPBS).

2021

Since parental burnout can have detrimental consequences for parents, couples, and children, easy-to-use, reliable, and valid practical tools for the early detection of parental burnout are required. We developed and validated a brief scale to identify burned-out parents and parents at burnout risk. In Study 1, we developed the 5-item Brief Parental Burnout scale (BPBs) based on the gold standard measure of parental burnout, the Parental Burnout Assessment (PBA). We applied Item Response Theory Graded Response Model (GRM) analyses on the data of 1,725 Finnish parents. Compared against the PBA total score, the five selected items showed both high sensitivity and specificity in screening pare…

Effects of PSD2 on security architecture of mobile banking : a review of literature

2017

This thesis aims to find out the changes that the Payment Service Directive (PSD2) will bring to the security architecture of mobile banking. PSD2 will create a situation where security mechanisms are separated from the actual banking application. Payment service providers must provide their Application Programming Interface for third party developers to give them access to authentication of payment transactions. PSD2 requires payments service providers to offer strong customer authentication with separate authentication mechanism from the banking application. This thesis found that academic literature about the security architecture of mobile banking does not provide a model where a separa…

Structure and properties of epitaxial ferroelectric PbLu0.5Nb0.5O3thin films

2001

Abstract Epitaxial thin film heterostructures of PbLu0.5Nb0.5O3 (PLuN) and La0.5Sr0.5CoO3 (LSCO) were deposited by in situ pulsed laser ablation onto MgO and LaAlO3 (100) substrates. The formation of crystalline phases, epitaxy, film-electrode-substrate orientation relationships, crystal perfection and chemical order were studied by x-ray diffraction. The structural properties were found to depend on the deposition conditions and on the substrate. The perovskite PLuN films were pseudocubic and epitaxial, with (001) planes parallel to the substrate surface. At room temperature, Au/PLuN/LSCO capacitors exhibited ferroelectric behavior and zero-field dielectric permittivity about e ≅ 210–260, …
