Abstract Nanolime dispersed in 2-propanol was extensively used for the consolidation of wall paintings. The knowledge of the advances of this methodology dealing with all the possible effects associated with the nanolime new material in conservation is fundamental to assess and improve the technique. In this paper, four different dispersions of Ca(OH) 2 nanoparticles were characterised by Small Angle X-rays Scattering technique (SAXS) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) in order to achieve information on size, shape, polydispersity, agglomeration, and crystal structure (by SAED patterns) of the particles. So far unexplored, the introduction and the spread of the Roman thermal buildings in the prima provincia (Sicily) are widely debated in the current archeological studies. Mainly due to the lack of systematic excavations and intensively technological studies, the assessment of thermae in the Hellenistic-Roman Sicily has been thus far interpreted as a new social and architectural experience. Abstract Four Centuripe vases dated back to the late 3rd-2nd centuries B.C. were analysed using imaging under visible and ultra-violet illumination as well as complementary non-invasive and non-destructive portable X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) and Total Reflectance – Fourier Transform InfraRed (TR-FTIR) spectroscopies. The vases are of great importance since they represent a rare expression of the Hellenistic vase painting. The documentation, dissemination, and enhancement of Cultural Heritage is of great relevance. To that end, technological tools and interactive solutions (e.g., 3D models) have become increasingly popular. Historical silk fabrics are nearly flat objects, very fragile and with complex internal geometries, related to different weaving techniques and types of yarns. These characteristics make it difficult to properly document them, at the yarn level, with current technologies. La Casa a Peristilio 1 di Monte Iato è una delle più lussuose e meglio pubblicate abitazioni ellenistiche dell’intera Sicilia. Il problema più dibattuto che la concerne riguarda la sua cronologia. Diversi studiosi, concentrando la loro attenzione su differenti aspetti (membrature architettoniche, cronologia dei rinvenimenti ceramici o considerazioni di ordine storico), hanno discusso la datazione della casa agli anni attorno al 300 a.C., suggerendo una cronologia più tarda. Orsola di Palermo per Pellegra Gravina Bonanno di Montevago, ultima discendente ed unica erede dei principi di Montevago, tra i cui congiunti erano illustri personalità come il generale Federico Carlo Gravina (lo sconfitto della battaglia di Trafalgar) e il Cardinale Pietro, arcivescovo di Palermo. Scrivere di una persona cara è impresa difficile, scrivere di una persona di cui sei stato per anni alunno e che consideri un Maestro è compito ancor più arduo. Se poi questa persona è il professore Antonino Di Vita (fig. 1), uomo dai mille interessi, studioso acuto e poliedrico, persona amabile e di raro garbo e affabilità, la missione è quasi impossibile.
