Background: Universal access to safe drinking water and sanitation facilities is an essential human right, recognised in the Sustainable Development Goals as crucial for preventing disease and improving human wellbeing. Comprehensive, high-resolution estimates are important to inform progress towards achieving this goal. Recombinant cDNA encapsulation in small liposomes with hepatocyte access ability.

Liposomal encapsulation efficiency of a recombinant cDNA was studied by several procedures. We observed that supernatant fraction of ultracentrifuged liposomes prepared by extrusion through polycarbonate filters of 400 nm pore size yielded a very homogeneous suspension of small (50 nm diameter) unilamellar liposomes with highest DNA/lipid ratio and great ability to access to hepatocytes.

Chitosan oligosaccharide (C) was functionalized with L-arginine (A) and short hydrocarbon chains (C-8) to design an amphiphilic copolymer, henceforth CAC(8), leading to microparticles (MPs) consisting of an arginine-decorated hydrophilic shell and inner hydrophobic domains allowing the encapsulation of high amount hydrophobic drugs such as sorafenib tosylate (>10% w/w). The Influence of Single-Dose and Short-Term Administration of Quercetin on the Pharmacokinetics of Midazolam in Humans.

Quercetin is a plant flavonol that is available from both daily diet and nutraceuticals. To investigate the effect of acute and short-term intake of high-dose quercetin on CYP3A-mediated metabolism, 10 healthy volunteers received 7.5 mg oral midazolam without, with a single dose of 1500 mg quercetin and after 1-week supplementation with 1500 mg quercetin daily. A substudy was performed in three subjects to explore the impact of repeated quercetin intake on intravenously administered midazolam. Resveratrol is a poly-phenol with many beneficial effects: not only as an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antiatherogenic agent, as well as a platelet aggregation inhibitor, but also as an antiproliferative and proapoptotic factor in various types of cancers. There are reviews about the mechanisms responsible for its effects in leukemia and lymphomas, emphasizing the chemosensitizing role of resveratrol, which allows overcoming the multidrug resistance of cancers.
