We report on the synthesis of a distannyne supported by a pincer ligand bearing pendant amine donors that is capable of reversibly activating E–H bonds at one or both of the tin centres through dissociation of the hemi-labile N–Sn donor/acceptor interactions. This chemistry can be exploited to sequentially (and reversibly) assemble mixed-valence chains of tin atoms of the type ArSn{Sn(Ar)H} n SnAr ( n = 1, 2). The experimentally observed (decreasing) propensity towards chain growth with increasing chain length can be rationalized both thermodynamically and kinetically by the electron-withdrawing properties of the –Sn(Ar)H– backbone units generated via oxidative addition. peerReviewed

Bakalaura darba tēma - „Pacientu aprūpe pēc prostatas hiperplāzijas mazinvazīvas operācijas dienas stacionārā”. Tēma ir aktuāla, jo mazinvazīvas, endoskopiskas operācijas mūsdienās arvien vairāk aizstāj konvenciālo ķirurģiju. Darba mērķis ir noskaidrot pacientu aprūpi pēc prostatas hiperplāzijas mazinvazīvas operācijas dienas stacionārā. Pētniecības uzdevumi tika izvirzīti, lai sasniegtu darba mērķi. Promotions and Earnings – Gender or Merit? Evidence from Longitudinal Personnel Data

This study examines the determinants of promotions, performance evaluations and earnings using unique longitudinal data from the personnel records of a large university. The study focuses on the role of gender in remuneration using, first, information on the complexity ratings of job tasks to define promotions on job ladders and, second, information on objective individual productivity. The study finds that individual research productivity was an important determinant of promotions and earnings. The results indicate that gender has no effect on the probability of being promoted, conditional on productivity, nor does it play a role in the performance evaluation of employees. Furthermore, the…

The focus of this dissertation is on the effects of specific employer characteristics on wages and wage rigidity and how these characteristics enter the wage-setting process. The dissertation includes an introductory chapter and five separate essays. The introduction provides motivation, background on the main keywords and an overview of the thesis. Chapters two and three study how internal references affect wages and wage rigidity from a theoretical perspective. Characterization of palm sap harvested in Songkhla province, Southern Thailand

International audience; The purpose of this study was to characterise the quality of palm sap after harvested in Songkhla province, southern Thailand. Ten palm sap samples were analyzed. The results showed differed in physical and chemical quality among samples (P<0.05). The results showed range of L*, a* and b* values between 61.49 to 87.53, 1.46 to 3.52 and 12.41 to 19.31, respectively. The turbidity was ranged from 39.56% to 79.95%. The pH value was varied from 4.19 to 5.23, while total acidity was ranged from 0.27% to 0.93%. The total soluble solids ranged from 10.80 to 17.40OBrix. Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot prosociālu personības iezīmju un uzvedības saistību ar subjektīvo labklājību, kā arī noskaidrot, kādas ir atšķirības prosociālas uzvedības rādītājos respondentiem ar dažādu iesaistīšanās līmeni palīdzības sniegšanā citiem (brīvprātīgie, palīdzošo profesiju pārstāvji un citi). Pētījumā piedalījās 372 respondenti vecumā no 18 līdz 72 gadiem, no kuriem 143 brīvprātīgie, 82 palīdzošo profesiju pārstāvji un 147 respondenti, kas neiesaistās palīdzošo profesiju vai brīvprātīgo darbā (kontrolgrupa). Lai pārbaudītu pētījuma hipotēzi un atbildētu uz pētījuma jautājumu, tika izmantotas Apmierinātības ar dzīvi skala (Satisfaction With Life Scale; Diener, Emmons, Larsen, …
