L’art. 28 dello Statuto dei lavoratori ha attraversato un cinquantennio di storia del conflitto sindacale italiano. Si tratta di un rimedio ancora attuale, che necessità di un intervento manutentivo alla luce delle trasformazioni del diritto del lavoro. Partendo dalla validità del modello normativo, il saggio individua le criticità per il legislatore in una prospettiva de jure condendo.
Intellectual property from a labour law perspective: the transfer of authors' rights in labour relationships

This article analyses Spanish intellectual property law to establish whether formalised employment contracts are associated with the transfer to employers of the economic rights to works created by employees. This analysis is limited to the legal treatment of employee-created literary, artistic and scientific works, which are subject to authors' rights and are protected by intellectual property law. The study does not include inventions created in a labour relationship, which are regulated by legislation on patents and brands, and are thus dealt with differently according to industrial property rights.

Automation is a big concern in modern societies in view of its widespread impact on many socioeconomic issues including income, jobs, and productivity. While previous studies have concentrated on determining the effects on jobs and salaries, our aim is to understand how automation affects productivity, and how some policies, such as taxes on robots or universal basic income, moderate or aggravate those effects. To this end, we have designed an experiment where workers make productive effort decisions, and managers can choose between workers and robots to do these tasks. This chapter gives the reader an introduction to microfinance and reports how the industry has moved from generally being praised to increasingly being criticized. Particularly, the chapter addresses the concern that microfinance institutions chase profits and are moving away from the poor-customer segments. The authors' findings indicate that rather than being an industry with high profits, the industry struggles with high costs and low earnings. They also find that the focus on serving poor customers did not change over time. Thus, the ‘mission drift’ claim cannot be confirmed.

Currently their protection is regulated by relevant treaty provisions and the Charter of Fundamental Rights (Charter), both of a primary law nature, as well as by the non-binding European Pillar of Social Rights (Pillar). Child mortality and fertility: public vs private education

How does the effect of child mortality reductions on fertility and education vary across educational systems? To answer this question, we develop an overlapping-generations model where altruistic parents care about both the number and human capital of their surviving children. We find that, under a private education system, if income is low initially, the economy converges to a Malthusian stagnation steady state. For a high level of initial income, the economy reaches a growth path in which children’s education rises and fertility decreases with income.
