The Labour Market and the Digital Revolution: Focus on Some Effects, Legislative Implications and the Role of Collective Bargaining

2021

In the last years, in Italy as in other European countries, external influences have been crucial throughout the ongoing transformation of labour law, which has undergone a phase of epochal change regarding all of the ‘components of its historical model stemming from a deregulation process as well as a great change in the scientific paradigm. The subject’s sensitivity to the external influences has resulted in a transformation, which has inevitably also affected the system of industrial relations, ultimately challenging the role and the dynamics of collective bargaining. The work paradigm of the twentieth century appeared inadequate and insufficient to face all the challenges that had been …

Journey to the Centre of Europe

1998

The endogeneous nature of the dynamic analysis among classical economist's writings

1998

« Endogenous growth theories » exhibit different models in which growth is assumed to come from the accumulation of a particular factor (human capital, technology, public infrastructures, etc.). However, due to its newness, the real term of « endogenous growth » seems to playdown old theories. This paper intends to put right this position and demonstrate that relations displayed by current models are only formalizations stemming from the developments of classical economists. In the end, we demonstrate that their analysis yields new viewpoints for analysts. Overall, we wish to reinforce theendogenous nature of the dynamic analysis among classical economist's writings.

Overqualification Theory, Research, and Practice: Things That Matter

2011

In our focal article, we contended that overqualified employees may present unique advantages to hiring organizations and that decisions regarding overqualified employees should be made considering the strengths as well as potential limitations of employing overqualified employees. In this response to commentaries on our original article, we identify distinctions researchers should pay attention to. Specifically, measurement of overqualification (whether objective or subjective measures are used), dimension of overqualification in question (overeducation, being overskilled, overintelligence, or overexperience), when and from whose perspective overqualification is assessed (before or after e…
