The subject of this essay-based dissertation is Hume’s natural philosophy. The dissertation consists of four separate essays and an introduction. These essays do not only treat Hume’s views on the topic of natural philosophy, but his views are placed into a broader context of history of philosophy and science, physics in particular. La Esferocitosis Hereditaria (EH) es la anemia hemolítica crónica más frecuente en el mundo. Se produce por una alteración de las proteínas de membrana del eritrocito, lo que le confiere una menor capacidad para deformarse al hematíe y por tanto una vida media más corta. La hemólisis crónica mantenida produce anemia, ictericia y esplenomegalia. La EH se puede dividir en grupos según su gravedad (leve, moderado, grave) en función de sus valores de hemoglobina, reticulocitos y bilirrubina. La enfermedad de Gilbert se produce por una disminución de la glucuronización de la bilirrubina, produciendo un aumento de bilirrubina e ictericia clínica. The article traces the evolution of the publishing practice in the field of translations undertaken by Alberto Mondadori after the Second World War. Through some letters of the publisher to his collaborators, the analysis highlights the nature of his choices, which were often motivated not only by the desire to publish complete works, but also by personal and political reasons, such as the desire of self‑affirmation, to introduce himself as a “new publisher in a new era”, in clear antithesis with the past.
Behaviour of Extractives in Norway Spruce (Picea abies) Bark during Pile Storage

The current practices regarding the procurement chain of forest industry sidestreams, such as conifer bark, do not always lead to optimal conditions for preserving individual chemical compounds. This study investigates the standard way of storing bark in large piles in an open area. We mainly focus on the degradation of the most essential hydrophilic and hydrophobic extractives and carbohydrates. First, two large 450 m3 piles of bark from Norway spruce (Picea abies) were formed, one of which was covered with snow. The degradation of the bark extractives was monitored for 24 weeks.
