I giardini storici di Bagheria fra abbandono, complice distruzione e valorizzazione

Il saggio indaga il patrimonio delle ville e dei giardini storici, sistemati con parterre, viali, sculture, padiglioni, fontane e ricca flora e in alcuni casi anche fauna esotica, realizzati, dalla seconda metà del Seicento, a Bagheria, vicino Palermo. Sono anche presentati i processi di trasformazione, abbandono e distruzione (seconda metà del sec. Knowledge of managerial competencies: cross-cultural analysis between American and European students

This paper reports on the differences of managerial competencies among MBA students from American and European business schools. The results of this research suggest that there are certain differences of not only nationality but also gender. The study also points out the need for different managerial competency profiles to better assess MBA students looking for future career development. Asthma-Related Knowledge and Practices among Mothers of Asthmatic Children: A Latent Class Analysis

Mothers’ knowledge about childhood asthma influences management practices and disease control, but validating knowledge/practice questionnaires is difficult due to the lack of a gold standard. We hypothesized that Latent Class Analysis (LCA) could help identify underlying mother profiles with similar knowledge/practices. A total of 438 mothers of asthmatic children answered a knowledge/practice questionnaire. Using answers to the knowledge/practice questionnaire as manifest variables, LCA identified two classes: Class 1, “poor knowledge” (33%); Class 2, “good knowledge” (67%).
