In ogni interve…

Effects of cyclic fatty acid monomers on the function of cultured rat cardiac myocytes in normoxia and hypoxia
1992
Abstract It was shown in a previous study that rat ventricular myocytes in culture do incorporate in their phospholipids the cyclic fatty acid monomers (CFAM), produced from linolenic acid by heating linseed oil. In the present study, the functional consequences of this incorporation were investigated. As compared to control cells, CFAM containing cells displayed altered electromechanical properties evidenced by decreased maximal diastolic potential, upstroke velocity and rate and a shortened action potential duration. Moreover, oxygen depletion exerted much more adverse effects on CFAM-treated cells than in control cells, such as spontaneous rhythm abnormalities, cell shortening failure an…
Effect of 18:3 n-3 geometrical isomers of heated linseed oll on the biosynthesis of arachidonic acid in rat
1990
Abstract The influence of dietary heated linseed oil on the fatty acid composition of rat liver, platelet and plasma phospholipids (PL) with particular reference to the metabolism of linoleic acid (18:2 n-6) were studied. Δ6 and Δ5 desaturase activities and fatty acid composition of hepatic microsomal total lipids (TL) also were determined. Two groups of male weanling rats were fed, for 6 weeks, diets containing 10% (in weight) of a fresh linseed oil (LO group) and of a heated linseed oil (HLO group). The contents of geometrical isomers of linolenic acid (18:3 n-3) were high in the oil heated at 240°C for 10 hours. The pattern of arachidonic acid (20:4 n-6) in the different lipid fractions …
New 2-Methoxy Acetylenic Acids and Pyrazole Alkaloids from the Marine Sponge Cinachyrella sp.
2017
Three new 2-methoxy acetylenic acids (1–3) and a known derivative (4), in addition to three new natural pyrazole alkaloids (5–7) were isolated from an Indonesian marine sponge of the genus Cinachyrella. Compounds 5 and 6 have previously been reported as synthetic compounds. The structures of the new compounds were established on the basis of one- and two-dimensional NMR spectroscopy as well as by mass spectrometric data. The absolute configuration of the new acetylenic acid derivatives (1–3) was established by ECD spectroscopy. All isolated compounds were evaluated for their cytotoxicity against L5178Y mouse lymphoma cells. Compounds 1–4 exhibited strong activity with an IC50 value of 0.3 µ…
Interannual variation in littoral benthic macroinvertebrate communities under contrasting crayfish predation in a large boreal lake
2014
Long term studies are widely used nowadays in many fields of ecology. For instance, records over years represent a valuable tool to monitor and comprehend environmental changes. In freshwater ecology, long term studies are often applied in restoration effect assessments using a before-after-control-impact design. Little is known about the long term effects of freshwater predators on their prey, for example of how crayfish as omnivorous predators affect macroinvertebrate prey communities. Bottom substrate of stony littoral shores in three sites of Lake Päijänne, in Central Finland, were sampled for macroinvertebrates (MI) during five consecutive years and identified mainly to species. Of the…

Izmantojot selenium, capybara, cucumber, sistēma spēs veikt automatizētus weblapas testus funkcionalitātes pārbaudei un uzradīt testēšanas rezultātus.
The gastropod fauna of the Epipalaeolithic shell midden in the Vestibulo chamber of Nerja Cave (Málaga, southern Spain)
2011
The sedimentary record of the Vestibulo, Mina and Torca chambers in the ancient entrance of Nerja Cave (Malaga, southern Spain) developed between around 30 and 3.6 ka cal BP. The long record of human occupation shows a dominance of terrestrial snails associated with the Gravettian, with a continuation of these types in the Solutrean when marine shells begin to be introduced. During the Magdalenian, marine bivalves are dominant. Marine molluscs reach a maximum during the Epipalaeolithic, giving rise to a shell midden formed primarily by Mytilus edulis and diverse species of Patella. The Epipalaeolithic shell midden occurs in Unit 4 and can be dated to the PleistoceneeHolocene boundary. This …
