Ghostbusters! On the Narrative Creation of (Absent) Leader Characters

We seek to “bust out” ghost leaders, narrated leader(ship) characters manifesting leadership influence, to discuss the inherent challenges related to leaderless management. By taking the non-corporeal aspect of leadership into account, we challenge the notion of leaderless management—which we argue has turned out to be more of an inspiring and empowering idea rather than a standing practice. We illustrate, with a Finnish high-tech organization, how organizational members narrate leader characters into existence in the non-corporeal realm during an organizational change to fill the void of a corporeal leader. La ricerca si propone di valutare l'andamento della qualità della vita e l'evoluzione dei sintomi depressivi durante la gravidanza, utilizzando appositi strumenti psicometrici somministrati a un campione di 90 donne, durante i tre trimestri di gravidanza. Particolarmente interessante si è rivelata l'analisi longitudinale della tonalità depressiva: il trend sembra decrescere nell'ultimo trimestre, parallelamente all'aumento dello stato di salute mentale. Lattice QCD calculations of the hadronic vacuum polarization (HVP) have reached a precision where the electromagnetic (e.m.) correction can no longer be neglected. This correction is both computationally challenging and hard to validate, as it leads to ultraviolet (UV) divergences and to sizeable infrared (IR) effects associated with the massless photon. While we precisely determine the UV divergence using the operator-product expansion, we propose to introduce a separation scale $\Lambda\sim400\;$MeV into the internal photon propagator, whereby the calculation splits into a short-distance part, regulated in the UV by the lattice and in the IR by the scale $\Lambda$, and a UV-finite long-di…

Internet of Things is evolving heavily in these times. One of the major obstacle is energy consumption in the IoT devices (sensor nodes and wireless gateways). The IoT devices are often battery powered wireless devices and thus reducing the energy consumption in these devices is essential to lengthen the lifetime of the device without battery change. It is possible to lengthen battery lifetime by efficient but lightweight sensor data analysis in close proximity of the sensor.
