The potential for the transport and diffusion of some pathogenic microorganisms by migratory birds is of concern. Migratory birds may be involved in the dispersal of microorganisms and may play a role of mechanical and biological vectors. The efficiency of dispersal of pathogenic microorganisms depends on a wide range of biotic and abiotic factors that influence the survival or disappearance of a given agent in a geographical area. Coexisting electron emission mechanisms in small metal particles observed in fs-laser excited PEEM

Abstract Silver cluster films deposited on Si(1 1 1) were investigated by spectroscopic photoelectron microscopy using fs-laser excitation tuneable between hν = 1.45–1.65 eV and 2.9–3.3 eV. With increasing coverage the films grown as stepped wedges first exhibit clusters of few nanometers diameter with narrow size distributions that later agglomerate forming larger islands up to about 100 nm diameter. The cluster films have been characterized by SEM, AFM and HR-TEM. In the 3.1 eV range the small clusters emit more effectively and the dependence of electron yield on laser power follows a quadratic power law. Does the Relation between Rapid Automatized Naming and Reading Depend on Age or on Reading Level? A Behavioral and ERP Study

Reading predictors evolve through age: phonological awareness is the best predictor of reading abilities at the beginning of reading acquisition while Rapid Automatized Naming (RAN) becomes the best reading predictor in more experienced readers (around 9–10 years old). The aim of the article is to prove the positive impact of education on work salary. For this purpose, the main task of the article is toestimate the Mincer rate of return by taking several factors into account. A secondary task of the research is to analyze the results of2010 and 2011 and to find explanations for the significant differences between the two years. Approximation algorithm for constrained coupled-tasks scheduling problem

International audience; We tackle the makespan minimization coupled-tasks problem in presence of compatibility constraints. In particular, we focus on stretched coupled-tasks, i.e. coupled-tasks having the same sub-tasks execution time and idle time duration. In such context, we propose some complexity results according to several parameters and we design an efficient polynomial-time approximation algorithm.

Time and work generalised precedence relationships in project scheduling with pre-emption: An application to the management of Service Centres
