Portant à la fois un regard sur les classements dits "officiels" comme sur les classements dits "vulgarisateurs" mais tout aussi dignes d'intérêt, cet ouvrage observe la diversité des prescripteurs de la représentation de la qualité du vin et suscite notre interrogation sur leur légitimité pour définir une modélisation universelle de la qualité. Ce livre sera utile à tous les consommateurs qui se demandent si un vin médaillé est systématiquement un "bon cru".
