Cloning and expression of two novel aldo-keto reductases fromDigitalis purpurealeaves
2002
The aldo-keto reductase (AKR) superfamily comprises proteins that catalyse mainly the reduction of carbonyl groups or carbon–carbon double bonds of a wide variety of substrates including steroids. Such types of reactions have been proposed to occur in the biosynthetic pathway of the cardiac glycosides produced by Digitalis plants. Two cDNAs encoding leaf-specific AKR proteins (DpAR1 and DpAR2) were isolated from a D. purpurea cDNA library using the rat Δ4-3-ketosteroid 5β-reductase clone. Both cDNAs encode 315 amino acid proteins showing 98.4% identity. DpAR proteins present high identities (68–80%) with four Arabidopsis clones and a 67% identity with the aldose/aldehyde reductase from Medi…
Putative multiadhesive protein from the marine spongeGeodia cydonium: Cloning of the cDNA encoding a fibronectin-, an SRCR-, and a complement control…
1998
Sponges (Porifera) representing the simplest metazoan phylum so far have been thought to possess no basal lamina tissue structures. One major extracellular matrix protein that is also a constitutive glycoprotein of the basal lamina is fibronectin. It was the aim of the present study to identify the native protein from the marine sponge Geodia cydonium and to isolate the corresponding cDNA. In crude extracts from this sponge protein(s) of Mr of Ý230 and Ý210 kDa could be visualized by Western blotting using an anti-fibronectin [human] antibody. By PCR cloning from a cDNA library of G. cydonium we isolated a cDNA comprising one element of fibronectin, the type-III (FN3) module. The cDNA (2.3 …
Theoretical studies on cycloaddition reactions
2014
Cycloaddition reactions represent one of the most powerful processes in organic chemistry. The most common types of cycloaddition reactions are the Diels-Alder (DA) and the 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions (1,3-DCs) which lead to five and six membered rings, respectively. In our ongoing efforts to contribute to the understanding of DA and 1,3-DCs; we studied the following using the B3LYP/6-31G(d) level of theory: 1. The 1,3-DCs of the pyridinium-3-olates and pyrazinium-3-olates with methyl acrylate and methyl methacrylate [1,2]. 2. The competitive hetero-DA and 1,3-DCs of methyl glyoxylate oxime and its tautomeric nitrone with cyclopentadiene in the absence and in the presence of BF3 as …
Combinatorial chemistry of -hairpins
2000
Combinatorial chemistry is expanding rapidly both in terms of chemistry development and application to the synthesis of compound libraries for lead discovery and optimization. Combinatorial technologies continue evolving and developing, in fact they are being used as basic research tools in different fields that include peptide/protein folding. This review examines the use of combinatorial chemistry in the design of peptides and protein domains that adopt beta-sheet conformations. In particular, the use of conformationally restricted peptide libraries has allowed the identification of linear peptides that are folded in a beta-hairpin structure in plain aqueous solutions.

DOCS ICI, COURTS LÀ : UNE ALTERNATIVE DE DIFFUSION POUR LES FILMS REGIONAUX EN BOURGOGNE-FRANCHE-COMTÉ ?
2021

2022
This paper presents the results of a research study whose objective was to identify the facilitating factors and barriers that, in the opinion of representatives of the Spanish scientific community, impact the implementation of the new open science model in four areas: open access, open research data, research assessment and open peer review. A qualitative study was designed in which information was obtained through interviews with researchers, editors of scientific journals, representatives of assessment agencies and vice-chancellors, and through a focus group of librarians with expertise in aspects of open science. The enabling factors and barriers identified were related to the researche…
