A series of C18-oxygenated derivatives of dehydroabietic acid were synthesized from commercial abietic acid and evaluated for their cytotoxic, antimycotic, and antiviral activities.

Central European climate is strongly influenced by North Atlantic (Westerlies) and Siberian High circulation patterns, which govern precipitation and temperature dynamics and induce heterogeneous climatic conditions, with distinct boundaries between climate zones. Human papillomaviruses (HPVs) are a group of host-specific DNA viruses, with a remarkable epithelial cell specificity: they have been reported principally in the ano-genital tract, urethra, skin, larynx, tracheo-bronchial and oral mucosa. More than 100 different HPV types have been identified and classified as high (e.g. 16, 18, 31) or low (e.g. 11, 42, 36) -risk (HR and LR), based on their association with cervical carcinoma. This chapter aims to challenge heterosexual norms in society by analyzing heterosexual families when confronted with the coming out of one of their children. Starting with the essentialist construction of identities and gender norms supported by the symbolic structure of the natural and traditional (straight) family, we reconstruct paths and dynamics of the response that heterosexual parents give to their LGBTQ2 children. Patients with long gap esophageal atresia are often managed with gastrostomy and tube drainage of the proximal pouch, despite the high risk of aspiration and nosocomial infections. Long gap esophageal atresia has been reported in the presence of congenital anomalies, most often within the spectrum of the VACTERL association. We report on three preterm newborns in whom the association of long gap esophageal atresia, prematurity and congenital anomalies led to a significant reduction of the patients' life span, amplifying many clinical problems. Dendrimer-coated magnetic particles for radionuclide separation

Magnetic particles were synthesised for radionuclide removal from nuclear wastes by magnetic separation. Dendrimers with terminal amino groups attached to the particle surface were used to bind chelating groups for lanthanides and actinides. This led to a 50–400-fold increase of the distribution coefficients for europium and americium in comparison to the reference particles without the dendrimers. Back-extraction studies have demonstrated the possibility of multiple particle recycling.

Zinātnieki izveidoja veselu lingvistikas melu kustību: Weber (1920), Carson (2010), J. Meibauer (2014) un citi. Šī zinātnes papīra mērķis ir analizēt dažādu izrakstus no politiķu runu ierakstiem sintaktiskās organizācijas līmenī un atrast pašu populārāko teikumu konstrukciju veidu melu situācijās un politiskajās debatēs. Pētījumā tika izmantotas sekojošas metodes - miksēto metodu veids, kvalitatīva DA, SDA un sintaktiskā analīze. Corpus metode tika izvēlēta kā datu vākšanas metode. Declarative teikumu tips bija apskatīts, teikumu garumi, pasīvo konstrukciju izmantošana, vienādie elementi, personīgo vietniekvārdu, stilistisku figūru izmantošana tika izskatīti.
