International audience; In the robotic field, navigation and path planning applications benefit from a wide range of visual systems (e.g. perspective cameras, depth cameras, catadioptric cameras, etc.). In outdoor conditions, these systems capture information in which sky regions cover a major segment of the images acquired. Dynamic light scattering by preserved skimmed cow milk: A comparison of two-colour and three-dimensional cross-correlation experiments

We investigate the dynamic light scattering of preserved skimmed cow milk and compare the performance of a standard two-colour (2C) cross-correlation setup with the recently developed three-dimensional (3D) cross-correlation setup. Undiluted milk could only be investigated using the 3D setup because of too low signal-to-noise ratio of the 2C setup. A tenfold diluted milk, however, could be investigated by both setups, and comparable results for the dynamics of the sample were obtained thus demonstrating the equivalence of the decorrelation schemes. The focal plane assembly for the Athena X-ray Integral Field Unit instrument

This paper summarizes a preliminary design concept for the focal plane assembly of the X-ray Integral Field Unit on the Athena spacecraft, an imaging microcalorimeter that will enable high spectral resolution imaging and point-source spectroscopy. The instrument's sensor array will be a ~ 3840-pixel transition edge sensor (TES) microcalorimeter array, with a frequency domain multiplexed SQUID readout system allowing this large-format sensor array to be operated within the thermal constraints of the instrument's cryogenic system. Photostimulated processes in the CsI-Tl crystal after UV irradiation

The photostimulated luminescence is studied for CsI-Tl crystal after irradiation with ultraviolet light in the 80 - 300 K temperature range. The PSL creation spectrum coincides with the D absorption band at 80 K. Three bands are observed in the stimulation spectra at 80 K: 1400, 950, and 600 nm. The 1400 and 950 nm stimulation bands are presumably explained as optical transitions in the Tl 0 and V k centers situated in the spatial correlated pairs. The stimulation at 600 nm band is ascribed to the unperturbed Tl 0 centers.
Light Sensitive Lattice Defects In BaTiO 3 Containing Fe

Electron spin resonance spectra, which can consistently be explained by the models Fe4+ - Vo and Fe5+ - vBa, have been observed with BaTiO3 containing Fe. Also Fe3+ and - Fe3+ - Vo have been identified. All these centers as well as several unidentified ones are observed to change their charge states under illumination. They thus are possibly in involved in photorefractive processes in BaTiO3 containing Fe.
