Biliopancreatic Diversion: early complications

The experience and early complications in 66 morbidly obese patients who underwent biliopancreatic diversion are presented. There was one death, due to a pulmonary embolus (PE) at home on the 15th postoperative day. Postoperative complications occurred in nine patients, consisting of gastric hemorrhage (2), gastric outlet obstruction (2), non-lethal PE (1), deep vein thrombosis (1), wound dehiscence (1), and asymptomatic gastric leak (1). Surgical treatment of patients suffering from monogenetic forms of morbid obesity is considered to be the poorest investigated theme in bariatric surgery. This review article presents aspects of genetic disorders in morbid obesity as well as some aspects of surgical treatment in patients with monogenetic forms of morbid obesity (Prader-Willi-Syndrome). Dear Editor, Postoperative femoral neuropathy is an uncommon complication associated with pelvic/abdominal surgery. The main mechanism underlying this neuropathy is stretching and/or prolonged compression of the nerve.1,2 The nerve compression can be caused by the self-retaining retractors that are sometimes used during surgery directly constricting the nerve against the pelvic sidewall and inducing ischemia.1 Symptoms of femoral neuropathy are weakness of ipsilateral hip flexion and knee extension, and sensory deficit on the anteromedial thigh. Tässä tutkimuksessa on tarkasteltu Jyväskylän yliopiston kielipolitiikkaa ja siihen liittyviä diskursseja ja asetettu kielipolitiikka kielipoliittiseen viitekehykseen. Jyväskylän yliopiston kielipolitiikka on linjaava hallinnollinen asiakirja, jossa määritetään muun muassa yliopiston opetus- ja tutkintokielet, kielitaitotasovaatimukset ja asetetaan tavoitteita yliopiston kansainvälistymiselle. Korkeakoulujen kielipolitiikan tutkimus on Suomessa jäänyt vielä vähäiseksi, ja tämän tutkimuksen on tarkoitus paikata tätä aukkoa kielipolitiikan tutkimuksessa. Musiikin sivuaineopinnot opettajankoulutuslaitoksen opiskelijoiden kokemina

Tutkimus käsittelee Jyväskylän yliopiston luokanopettajaopiskelijoiden kokemuksia musiikin sivuaineopinnoista. Siinä kuvataan, millaisia valmiuksia opiskelijat kokevat saaneensa opinnoista ja miten opinnot tukevat asiantuntijuuden kehittymistä. Lisäksi kuvataan, millaisina opiskelijat kokevat omat taitonsa opintojen jälkeen. Tutkimuksen aineisto koostuu kuudesta luokanopettajaopiskelijan haastattelusta, jotka toteutettiin kevään 2014 aikana. Aineisto analysoitiin teemoittelemalla aineistolähtöisesti ja teoriaohjaavasti. Opiskelijat kokivat saaneensamusiikin sivuaineesta monipuolisesti erilaisia musiikin opettamiseen, mutta he olisivat toivoneet saavansa enemmän musiikin pedagogisia valmiuks…
