Long-term use of angiotensin II receptor antagonists and calcium-channel antagonists in Algerian hypertensive patients: Effects on metabolic and oxid…
2015
The effects of calcium antagonists (amlodipine) and angiotensin II receptor antagonists (telmisartan) on lipid profile and oxidative markers were investigated in Algerian hypertensive patients. At the beginning and after 1 year of antihypertensive therapy, blood samples are collected for determination of biochemical parameters (glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides, urea, creatinine) and oxidative markers (malondialdehyde, carbonyl proteins, nitric oxide, superoxide anion, vitamin C, glutathione, catalase, superoxide dismutase). The results of this study indicate that telmisartan and amlodipine are effective antihypertensive agents in the treatment of hypertension because a significant reduct…
Renin-angiotensin system gene polymorphisms: relationship with blood pressure and microalbuminuria in telmisartan-treated hypertensive patients.
2004
This study analyzed the relationship between four renin–angiotensin system (RAS) gene polymorphisms and the response to blood pressure lowering and development of microalbuminuria in 206 patients with essential hypertension treated once daily for 12 months with telmisartan 80 mg. Seated cuff blood pressure and urinary albumin excretion (UAE) were measured throughout the study. Patients were screened for the presence of the A-6G variant of the angiotensinogen gene, angiotensin-converting enzyme insertion/deletion polymorphism, and the A1166C and C573T polymorphisms of the angiotensin II type 1 receptor gene. No significant association was found between the presence of any gene polymorphism a…
X-ray micro-tomography based FEM modelling of hygroexpansion in PLA composites reinforced with birch pulp fibres
2017
This article presents a microscale modelling approach coupled with X-ray computed micro-tomography for the evaluation of material properties of polylactic acid (PLA) reinforced by birch pulp fibers under the effect of moisture. The results in terms of elastic moduli and hygroexpansion deformation were found in good agreement with the measurements taken at different levels of water uptake.
Effects of temperature, salinity and food level on the life history traits of the marine rotifer Synchaera cecilia valentina, n. subsp.
1997
A strain of the marine rotifer Synchaeta cecilia valentina, n. subsp., isolated from the Hondo of Elche Spanish Mediterranean coastal lagoon at 22%o salinity, was cultured in the laboratory in 20 ml test tubes and fed with the alga Tetraselmis suecica. The effect of two temperatures (20 and 24°C), four salinities (20,25,30 and 37%o) and two food levels (15 000 and 25 000 cells ml-1) on the life history traits of this rotifer were studied in life tables performed with replicated individual cultures. Temper- ature and salinity had a significant negative effect (P < 0.001) on the average lifespan (LS) and on the number of offspring per female (RQ). The effect of food level on LS is unclear, wh…
Seamless integration of MetaEdit+ and eclipse to combine modeling and coding
2012
Tool integration tries to help users by automating processes in software development. In literature integration is mostly shown from technical point of view leaving user related issues outside. In this paper tool integration is looked also from the perspective of software engineering process and the user involved in the process. Another aspect will be integrating design models and code. A case of tool integration will be presented. The first tool is MetaEdit+ which is a Domain-Specific Modeling environment. The other tool is Eclipse which is used for traditional software engineering. The integration aims to combine the modeling and coding activities which together support metamodelers and m…
How to Sell SaaS: A Model for Main Factors of Marketing and Selling Software-as-a-Service
2011
Software-as-a-Service providers have been growing fast while the contemporary research literature has neglected analysis of their business-critical marketing and sales processes. In this paper we collect the key factors characterizing how to market and sell SaaS to business customers into an eight dimensional model. We also use an explorative multi-case study to observe six SaaS providers and validate the model. The interviewed providers emphasized use of the Internet for marketing communication while personal direct sale was the dominating sales approach. Customer acquisition cost was the key performance indicator for marketing and sales while customer lifetime value and churn were the KPI…
Ortogonaalinen virheluokittelu
2010
Ortogonaalinen virheluokittelu on työkalu ohjelmistokehitysprosessin tehostamiseksi. Ortogonaalinen virheluokittelu tarjoaa menetelmän ohjelmistokehitysprosessin puutteiden ja näistä aiheutuvien virheiden kirjaamiseen, sekä tavan analyso…
Comments on “Finite-Time $H_{\infty }$ Fuzzy Control of Nonlinear Jump Systems With Time Delays Via Dynamic Observer-Based State Feedback”
2014
This paper investigates a defect appearing in “Finite-time H∞ fuzzy control of nonlinear jump systems with time delays via dynamic observer-based state feedback,” which the observer-based finite-time H∞ controller via dynamic observer-based state feedback could not ensuring stochastic finite-time boundedness, and satisfying a prescribed level of H∞ disturbance attenuation for the resulting closed-loop error fuzzy Markov jump systems. The corrected results are presented, and the improved optimal algorithms and new simulation results are also provided in this paper.
Static output-feedback control under information structure constraints
2013
An important challenge in the static output-feedback control context is to provide an isolated gain matrix possessing a zero-nonzero structure, mainly in problems presenting information structure constraints. Although some previous works have contributed some relevant results to this issue, a fully satisfactory solution has not yet been achieved up to now. In this note, by using a Linear Matrix Inequality approach and based on previous results given in the literature, we present an e cient methodology which permits to obtain an isolated static output-feedback gain matrix having, simultaneously, a zero-nonzero structure imposed a priori.
