Testing the direct and moderator effects of the stressor-detachment model over one year : A latent change perspective
2018
ABSTRACTTo test the direct and moderator effects of the stressor–detachment model from a long-term perspective, we investigated whether workload and detachment are related to changes in exhaustion and sleep difficulties over one year. We also examined whether detachment attenuates the relationship between high workload and these outcomes both cross-sectionally and over time. Questionnaire data with 1722 respondents at Time 1 and 1182 respondents at Time 2 were collected. We used a latent change score approach to analyse the data in order to identify intra-individual change among the studied constructs. Our results showed that high workload and low detachment at baseline were related to an i…
Kropp i bevegelse i bildeboka : Känner du Pippi Långstrump?
2011
In Astrid Lindgren’s authorship, there are many bodies in motion, and one of her most movable and energetic characters is Pippi Longstocking. In the illustrated novels about Pippi (Lindgren and Nyman 1945, 1946, and 1948) there are relatively few pictures, and as a result, Lindgren’s words carry most of the story. In the novels, her words have a greater functional load (Kress 2003, 46 ) than Nyman’s pictures. Naturally then, the words convey most of the information about Pippi and the other characters’ movements. But how does the portrayal of bodies in motion change when Pippi is portrayed in picturebooks where the pictures have a lot more space, ie, a greater functi…

A Network Formation Game Approach to Study BitTorrent Tit-for-Tat
2007
The Tit-for-Tat strategy implemented in BitTorrent (BT) clients is generally considered robust to selfish behaviours. The authors of [1] support this belief studying how Tit-for-Tat can affect selfish peers who are able to set their upload bandwidth. They show that there is a "good" Nash Equilibrium at which each peer uploads at the maximum rate. In this paper we consider a different game where BT clients can change the number of connections to open in order to improve their performance. We study this game using the analytical framework of network formation games [2]. In particular we characterize the set of pairwise stable networks the peers can form and how the peers can dynamically reach…
Consistent shakedown theorems for materials with temperature dependent yield functions
2000
The (elastic) shakedown problem for structures subjected to loads and temperature variations is addressed in the hypothesis of elastic-plastic rate-independent associative material models with temperature-dependent yield functions. Assuming the yield functions convex in the stress/temperature space, a thermodynamically consistent small-deformation thermo-plasticity theory is provided, in which the set of state and evolutive variables includes the temperature and the plastic entropy rate. Within the latter theory the known static (Prager's) and kinematic (König's) shakedown theorems - which hold for yield functions convex in the stress space - are restated in an appropriate consistent format…
Spanish electoral archive. SEA database
2021
This paper introduces the SEA database (acronym for Spanish Electoral Archive). SEA brings together the most complete public repository available to date on Spanish election outcomes. SEA holds all the results recorded from the electoral processes of General (1979–2019), Regional (1989–2021), Local (1979–2019) and European Parliamentary (1987–2019) elections held in Spain since the restoration of democracy in the late 70 s, in addition to other data sets with electoral content. The data are offered for free and is presented in a homogeneous and friendly format. Most of the databases are available for download with data from various electoral levels, including from the ballot box level. This…
A database for the monitoring of thermal anomalies over the Amazon forest and adjacent intertropical oceans
2015
AbstractAdvances in information technologies and accessibility to climate and satellite data in recent years have favored the development of web-based tools with user-friendly interfaces in order to facilitate the dissemination of geo/biophysical products. These products are useful for the analysis of the impact of global warming over different biomes. In particular, the study of the Amazon forest responses to drought have recently received attention by the scientific community due to the occurrence of two extreme droughts and sustained warming over the last decade. Thermal Amazoni@ is a web-based platform for the visualization and download of surface thermal anomalies products over the Ama…
A mechanistic study of the participation of azomethine ylides and carbonyl ylides in [3+2] cycloaddition reactions
2015
The participation of azomethine ylides (AYs) and carbonyl ylides (CYs) in [3+2] cycloaddition (32CA) reactions has been analysed at the DFT B3LYP/6-31G(d) level. The asymmetric substitution breaks the pseudodiradical character of the simplest three-atom-components (TACs), modifying their electrophilic and nucleophilic behaviours. These TACs react quickly towards electrophilic nitroethylene. However, while the reaction with AY takes place via a zw-type mechanism, the reaction with CY appears to take place via a pr-type mechanism. A different behaviour is found in the reactivity towards the nucleophilic methyl vinyl ether. While AY presents a high activation energy, CY presents a high reactiv…
Straightforward Regio- and Diastereoselective Synthesis, Molecular Structure, Intermolecular Interactions and Mechanistic Study of Spirooxindole-Engr…
2021
Straightforward regio- and diastereoselective synthesis of bi-spirooxindole-engrafted rhodanine analogs 5a–d were achieved by one-pot multicomponent [3 + 2] cycloaddition (32CA) reaction of stabilized azomethine ylide (AYs 3a–d) generated in situ by condensation of L-thioproline and 6-chloro-isatin with (E)-2-(5-(4-chlorobenzylidene)-2,4-dioxothiazolidin-3-yl)-N-(2-morpholinoethyl)acetamide. The bi-spirooxindole-engrafted rhodanine analogs were constructed with excellent diastereo- and regioselectivity along with high chemical yield. X-ray crystallographic investigations for hybrid 5a revealed the presence of four contiguous stereocenters related to C11, C12, C19 and C22 of the spiro struct…
Lewis Acid-Catalyzed [4 + 3] Cycloaddition of 2-(Trimethyl Silyloxy)acrolein with Furan. Insight on the Nature of the Mechanism from a DFT Analysis
2003
[reaction: see text]. The mechanism for the Lewis acid-catalyzed [4 + 3] cycloaddition of 2-(trimethylsilyloxy)acrolein 1 with furan 2 has been studied at the B3LYP/6-31G level. This reaction is a three-step process that is initialized by the nucleophilic attack of 2 to the beta-conjugated position of 1 to give a zwitterionic intermediate IN1. The key step on the formation of the seven-membered ring is the electrophilic attack of the furan residue to the electrophilically activated carbonyl carbon at this intermediate.
