Esito della contaminazione del modello dantesco con innumerevoli altre fonti - dalla letteratura odeporica a quella utopica, dalla prosa religiosa alla poesia burlesca – gli Inferni (1553) di Anton Francesco Doni rappresentano un’opera irriducibile ad un genere predefinito, aperta al gioco intertestuale e all’interazione fra testo e immagini. In una prosa eccentrica e originale, frutto della sua sensibilità manieristica, lo scrittore cinquecentesco ci consegna infatti una potente allegoria della condizione umana, uno specchio rovesciato del mondo come la luna ariostesca, brandendo la penna come una spada per smascherare – tra moralità e ironia – le menzogne della società del tempo.

Salikteņu lietojums korporatīvās atbildības ziņojumos

Šī pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot, kāda salikteņu forma un funkcija ir visbiežāk izmantota korporatīvās atbildības ziņojumos. Analīzei tika izvēlēti trīs korporatīvās atbildības ziņojumi banku nozarē. Izmantotā empīriskā pētījuma metode bija biežuma analīze, un analīze tika balstīta uz Bauera (1983), Levija (1998) un Liebera (2009) teorijām. Pētījuma rezultāti liecina, ka katram analizētajam korporatīvās atbildības ziņojumam ir sava visbiežāk lietotā salikteņu forma. Visvairāk lietotais saliktenis visos analizētajos korporatīvās atbildības ziņojumos ir salikts lietvārds, un vismazāk lietoti ir saliktie darbības vārdi un apstākļa vārdi. Comparative morphometrics of sharpsnout seabream (Diplodus puntazzo Cetti, 1777), reared in different conditions

The same genetic stock of sharpsnout seabream (Diplodus puntazzo), cultured in different conditions (lot A, monoculture tank; lot B, monoculture offshore cage; lot C, polyculture tank), was analysed using geometric morphometrics in order to detect changes in shape. Rearing in the offshore cage (lot B) had a significant effect on shape variation when compared to rearing in the two enclosed tanks (A and C). Fish from the tanks show a higher frequency (43.7% in lot A and 37.5% in lot C) of the so-called ‘goitred’ and ‘dorsal flat’ forms, their deformations shown by displacements in the corresponding landmarks of the infraopercular and dorsal areas. For currently unknown reasons, the evolution of CYP3A4 underwent acceleration in the human lineage after the split from chimpanzee. We investigated the significance of this event by comparing Escherichia coli-expressed CYP3A4 from humans, chimpanzee, and their most recent common ancestor. The expression level of chimpanzee CYP3A4 was ∼50% of the human CYP3A4, whereas ancestral CYP3A4 did not express in E. coli. Steady-state kinetic analysis with 7-benzyloxyquinoline, 7-benzyloxy-4-(trifluoromethyl)coumarin (7-BFC), and testosterone showed no significant differences between human and chimpanzee CYP3A4. In order to evaluate the contamination status of terrestrial biota in Latvia, muscle and liver tissues of red deer (Cervus elaphus), wild boar (Sus scrofa), and moose (Alces alces) were analyzed for the content of polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD), tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA), as well as cadmium and lead. The highest mean concentrations of PBDEs (46.6pgg-1 wet weight (w.w.)), cadmium (0.95mgkg-1 w.w.), and lead (0.22mgkg-1 w.w.) were observed in the tissues of moose, while the wild boar samples contained the highest levels of HBCD, with the mean concentration equal to 264pgg-1 w.w. in muscle tissues. Chromosome 1 is the largest human chromosome and contains over 1600 known genes and 1000 novel coding sequences or transcripts. It is, therefore, not surprising that recurrent chromosome 1 abnormalities are regularly encountered in both neoplastic and non-neoplastic medical conditions. The current review is focused on myeloid malignancies where we summarize the relevant published literature and discuss specific karyotype-phenotype associations. We show that chromosome 1 abnormalities are most frequent in BCR-ABL-negative classic myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN): polycythemia vera (PV), essential thrombocythemia (ET), and primary myelofibrosis (PMF).
