PROPERTIES AND APPLICATIONS OF POLYAMINOCYCLODEXTRIN DERIVATIVES

Nel presente lavoro sono state prese in esame le potenziali applicazioni delle poliamminociclodestrine. In particolare, diversi derivati poliamminociclodestrinici (amCD) sono stati ottenuti utilizzando un approccio sintetico diretto, tramite reazione di sostituzione nucleofila tra la heptakis-(6-deossi)-(6-bromo)-βCD (BrβCD) e poliammine lineari. Evaluation of adsorption ability of Cyclodextrin-Calixarene Nanosponges towards Pb2+ ion in aqueous solution

Abstract Different cyclodextrin-calixarene nanosponges (CyCaNSs) have been characterized by means of FFC-NMR relaxometry, and used as sorbents to remove Pb2+ ions from aqueous solutions. Considering that the removal treatments may involve polluted waters with different characteristics, the adsorption experiments were performed on solutions without and with the addition of background salts, under different operational conditions. APPLICATION OF FFC-NMR TECHNIQUES FOR THE STUDY OF THE FEATURES OF NANOSPONGES

Fast-Field-Cycling (FFC) NMR relaxometry is a versatile and powerful tool for studying the microscopic dynamics of molecular systems, provided that a suitable analysis of the longitudinal relaxation kinetics and the relevant NMRD (i.e. longitudinal relaxation rate R1 vs. Larmor frequency νL) dispersion curves is performed. In particular, FFC-NMR can afford valuable information on the texture properties (average pore size, specific surface and specific pore volume) of porous materials, once they have been saturated with water. The evolution and changing ecology of the African hominid oral microbiome

Significance The microbiome plays key roles in human health, but little is known about its evolution. We investigate the evolutionary history of the African hominid oral microbiome by analyzing dental biofilms of humans and Neanderthals spanning the past 100,000 years and comparing them with those of chimpanzees, gorillas, and howler monkeys. We identify 10 core bacterial genera that have been maintained within the human lineage and play key biofilm structural roles. However, many remain understudied and unnamed. Maģistra darba tēma ir „Triāžas procesa ietekme uz pacienta aprūpi neatliekamās palīdzības klīnikā”. Triāža ir process, ko izmanto, lai šķirotu pacientus pēc prioritātēm attiecībā uz medicīniskās palīdzības saņemšanu. Pareizi veicot triāžu, iespējams veiksmīgi organizēt pacientu plūsmu nodaļā, sniedzot ātrāku palīdzību tiem pacientiem, kuri no tās gūs lielāku labumu. Sakarā ar to, ka tirāža ir samērā jaunā pacientu šķirošanas sistēma Latvijas klīnikās, darba mērķis ir analizēt tirāžas procesu vienā no neatliekamās medicīnas klīnikām. Šis bakalaura darbs ir veltīts novelēm Mazais Svešinieks (2009) un Krāpniece (2002), kuru autore ir britu rakstniece Sāra Votersa un lauku māju nozīmju interpretāciju. Abas noveles tika starptautiski atzītas. Darba galvenais mērķis ir aplūkot lauku mājas simbola nozīmi un salīdzināt, kas ir kopīgs un atšķirīgs abās novelēs. Pētījumā izmantotas tādas metodes kā teorija par stāstījumu, teorija par Viktorijas un Neo-Viktorijas laikmetu un Gotikas literatūra, teksta analīze un teksta interpretācija par abām novelēm. Summary Peripheral neuromas can result in an unbearable neuropathic pain and functional impairment. Their treatment is still challenging, and their optimal management is to be defined. Experimental research still plays a major role, but - although numerous neuroma models have been proposed on different animals - there is still no single model recognised as being the reference. Several models show advantages over the others in specific aspects of neuroma physiopathology, prevention or treatment, making it unlikely that a single model could be of reference.
