This study describes a new aporocotylid genus and species, Skoulekia meningialis n. gen., n. sp. which was detected in the ectomeningeal veins surrounding the optic lobes of the brain of the common two-banded seabream Diplodus vulgaris (Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire, 1817) from the Gulf of Valencia (Mediterranean Sea). A detailed morphological description of S. meningialis is provided, including drawings, measurements and scanning electron microscopy images as well as a phylogenetic study of S. meningialis and closely related taxa using DNA sequence data obtained from whole ITS2 and partial 18S and 28S rDNA regions. Species of the genus Lamellodiscus Johnston et Tiegs, 1922 (Monogenea: Diplectanidae) are characterised by a complex haptor bearing many different attachment elements: two pairs of main hooks joined by medial bars, 14 peripheral marginal hooks and one or two lamellodiscs, formed by several overlapping sclerotised plates (lamellae). Amlodipine-induced gingival hyperplasia

Drug-induced gingival hyperplasia is a serious concern both for the patient and the clinician. A 45 year-old Caucasian male patient with hypertension, who received amlodipine (10 mg/day, single dose orally) for two months, sought medical attention because of the new-onset gingival enlargement. On clinical examination a generalized and firm overgrowth of the gingival throughout the maxilla and the mandible were evident. The lack of gingival inflammation and purulent discharge were other features of the clinical scenario. L’Egida, poema in endecasillabi sciolti composto da Girolamo Muzio fra il 1570 e il 1572 e pervenutoci incompleto, celebra le antiche vicende della terra d’Istria e, in particolare, della città di Capodistria (anticamente denominata Egida). Muzio difende il suo poema in alcune lettere indirizzate al nipote Maurizio nel 1575, nelle quali controbatte punto per punto le riserve sul poema formulate dai letterati di Capodistria. Quest’intervento si propone di rileggere tali epistole di Muzio, con lo scopo di evidenziare, in esse, l’orgoglio poetico professato chiaramente dallo scrittore e il suo attaccamento alla terra d’elezione, da lui sempre lodata ed esaltata. Supramolecular functionalization and concomitant enhancement in properties of Au25 clusters

We present a versatile approach for tuning the surface functionality of an atomically precise 25 atom gold cluster using specific host-guest interactions between ?-cyclodextrin (CD) and the ligand anchored on the cluster. The supramolecular interaction between the Au25 cluster protected by 4-(t-butyl)benzyl mercaptan, labeled Au25SBB18, and CD yielding Au25SBB18�?�CDn (n = 1, 2, 3, and 4) has been probed experimentally using various spectroscopic techniques and was further analyzed by density functional theory calculations and molecular modeling. Šajā darbā tiek pētītas jaunas alternatīvas mācību prakses vācu valodas kā svešvalodas mācīšanai pieaugušajiem un demonstrētas jaunas pieejas šo mācību optimizēšanai. Svarīgākais instruments ir vairāku valodu izmantošana mācību laikā, īpaši, latviešu un angļu. Šī darba mērķis ir pārbaudīt un pilnveidot pašlaik valodu apguves procesā izmantotās metodoloģijas piemērotību. Darbā izklāstīts pētāmā jautājuma teorētiskais pamatojums; praktiskajā daļā īpaši detalizēti tiek analizēti jauni, autora izstrādāti valodas mācību materiāli.
