Three-dimensional topological loops with nilpotent multiplication groups
2015
In this paper we describe the structure of indecomposable nilpotent Lie groups which are multiplication groups of three-dimensional simply connected topological loops. In contrast to the 2-dimensional loops there is no connected topological loop of dimension ≥ 3 such that the Lie algebra of its multiplication group is an elementary filiform Lie algebra. We determine the indecomposable nilpotent Lie groups of dimension ≤ 6 and their subgroups which are the multiplication groups and the inner mapping groups of the investigated loops. We prove that all multiplication groups have 1-dimensional centre and the corresponding loops are centrally nilpotent of class 2.
Multiplicative Loops of Quasifields Having Complex Numbers as Kernel
2017
We determine the multiplicative loops of locally compact connected 4-dimensional quasifields Q having the field of complex numbers as their kernel. In particular, we turn our attention to multiplicative loops which have either a normal subloop of dimension one or which contain a subgroup isomorphic to $$Spin_3({\mathbb {R}})$$ . Although the 4-dimensional semifields Q are known, their multiplicative loops have interesting Lie groups generated by left or right translations. We determine explicitly the quasifields Q which coordinatize locally compact translation planes of dimension 8 admitting an at least 16-dimensional Lie group as automorphism group.
Three Duality Symmetries between Photons and Cosmic String Loops, and Macro and Micro Black Holes
2015
We present a review of two thermal duality symmetries between two different kinds of systems: photons and cosmic string loops, and macro black holes and micro black holes, respectively. It also follows a third joint duality symmetry amongst them through thermal equilibrium and stability between macro black holes and photon gas, and micro black holes and string loop gas, respectively. The possible cosmological consequences of these symmetries are discussed.
On the Coronal Temperature in Solar Microflares
2020
We present a study of solar imaging and spectral observations of a microflare, focusing on the temperature diagnostics provided by the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) on board the Solar Dynamics Observatory, and the Extreme-Ultraviolet Imaging Spectrometer (EIS) on board Hinode. Our data analysis, in particular from the emission in the 131 and 94 Å channels, indicates that the heated plasma reaches temperatures of ≿10 MK, at odds with a previous analysis of the same event, and we discuss the reason for the discrepancy. A particularly interesting aspect is the likely presence of the Fe XXIII 263.76 Å line, though weak, in EIS spectra in the early phases of the event, supporting the presen…

Spectral energy distribution and generalized Wien's law for photons and cosmic string loops
2014
Physical objects with energy $u_w(l) \sim l^{-3w}$ with $l$ characteristic length and $w$ a dimensionless constant, lead to an equation of state $p=w\rho$, with $p$ the pressure and $\rho$ the energy density. Special entities with thisbproperty are, for instance, photons ($u = hc/l$, with $l$ the wavelength) with $w = 1/3$, and some models of cosmic string loops ($u =(c^4/aG)l$, with $l$ the length of the loop and $a$ a numerical constant), with $w = -1/3$. Here, we discuss some features of the spectral energy distribution of these systems and the corresponding generalization of Wien's law, which in terms of $l$ has the form $Tl_{mp}^{3w}=constant$, being $l_{mp}$ the most probable size of …
Acoustic Wave Properties in Footpoints of Coronal Loops in 3D MHD Simulations
2021
Acoustic waves excited in the photosphere and below might play an integral part in the heating of the solar chromosphere and corona. However, it is yet not fully clear how much of the initially acoustic wave flux reaches the corona and in what form. We investigate the wave propagation, damping, transmission, and conversion in the lower layers of the solar atmosphere using 3D numerical MHD simulations. A model of a gravitationally stratified expanding straight coronal loop, stretching from photosphere to photosphere, is perturbed at one footpoint by an acoustic driver with a period of 370 seconds. For this period acoustic cutoff regions are present below the transition region (TR). About 2% …
A Novel Neural Approach to the Determination of the Distribution Function in Magnetic Preisach Systems
2004
This paper presents a novel method to identify both the functional dependence of the Preisach function as well as its numerical parameters on the basis of some known magnetic behavior. In this paper, the identification of the Preisach function of a material is performed by using a neural network trained by a collection of hysteresis curves, whose Preisach functions are known. When a new hysteresis curve is given as input to this neural network, it is able to give as output both the functional dependence of the Preisach function as well as its numerical parameters.
The cyclicity of the elliptic segment loops of the reversible quadratic Hamiltonian systems under quadratic perturbations
2004
Abstract Denote by Q H and Q R the Hamiltonian class and reversible class of quadratic integrable systems. There are several topological types for systems belong to Q H ∩ Q R . One of them is the case that the corresponding system has two heteroclinic loops, sharing one saddle-connection, which is a line segment, and the other part of the loops is an ellipse. In this paper we prove that the maximal number of limit cycles, which bifurcate from the loops with respect to quadratic perturbations in a conic neighborhood of the direction transversal to reversible systems (called in reversible direction), is two. We also give the corresponding bifurcation diagram.
