Early Social Isolation Stress and Perinatal NMDA Receptor Antagonist Treatment Induce Changes in the Structure and Neurochemistry of Inhibitory Neuro…
2017
AbstractThe exposure to aversive experiences during early life influences brain development and leads to altered behavior. Moreover, the combination of these experiences with subtle alterations in neurodevelopment may contribute to the emergence of psychiatric disorders, such as schizophrenia. Recent hypotheses suggest that imbalances between excitatory and inhibitory (E/I) neurotransmission, especially in the prefrontal cortex and the amygdala, may underlie their etiopathology. In order to understand better the neurobiological bases of these alterations, we studied the impact of altered neurodevelopment and chronic early-life stress on these two brain regions. Transgenic mice displaying fl…
Telpiskās domāšanas apguve Ģeogrāfijā un Sportā 7.klasē
2022
Pieredzes darba tēma: “Telpiskās domāšanas apguve ģeogrāfijā un sportā 7.klasē”. Pieredzes darba autors: Latvijas Universitātes pedagoģijas, psiholoģijas un mākslas fakultātes studente Eva Haberkorne-Vimba. Pieredzes darba vadītājs: docente Dr.ģeogr. Gunta Kalvāne. Darba mērķis: Izpētīt un izvērtēt pieredzi par telpiskās domāšanas metožu aprobāciju ģeogrāfijas un sporta mācību procesā, iegūt atgriezenisko saiti no skolēniem, reflektēt par to, piedāvāt ieteikumus citiem pedagogiem. Īss satura izklāsts: Pieredzes darbā aprakstīta mācību procesa plānošana starppriekšmetu saiknē ģeogrāfijas un sporta mācību priekšmetos, sniegts pamatojums telpiskās domāšanas pilnveides nepieciešamībai. Sniegts …
Lietotnes prototips skolēnu izpratnes veicināšanai par ģeometriskajiem ķermeņiem matemātikā 8.-9. klasē
2022

CLONING OF RAT-SPECIFIC LONG PCP4/PEP19 ISOFORM (LPI)
2007
We report the identification of a cDNA that encodes a putative protein of 94 amino acids and expected molecular weight of 10.7 kDa, the C-terminal half of which is identical to that of PEP19, a small, brain-specific protein involved in Ca++/calmodulin signaling. The novel rat-specific protein, tentatively named long PEP19 isoform (LPI), is the product of alternative splicing of the rat PCP4 gene encoding PEP19. We found that antibodies raised against the first 13 N-terminal amino acids of LPI, not present in PEP19, recognize a protein enriched in the developing rat brain.
PEP-19 and LPI camstatins are RNA-binding proteins

The chemical composition of the aerial parts essential oil of Acinos alpinus subsp. nebrodensis (Lamiaceae) growing in Sicily (Italy)
2021
Acinos is a small genus of economically important plants belonging to Lamiaceae family whose botanical collocation is quite problematic due to the disagreement among the botanists and the presence in literature of several names and synonyms from different sources. In the present study the chemical composition of the essential oil from aerial parts of Acinos alpinus subsp. nebrodensis (Strobl) Brullo & Brullo collected in Central Sicily was analyzed by GC-MS. The result showed the presence of large quantity of sesquiterpene hydrocarbons with germacrene D (37.9%) as the most abundant component followed by (E)-β-caryophyllene (5.1%). Among the oxygenated monoterpenes thymol (8.3%) was the …
Predictors of Pain Development after Laparoscopic Adnexectomy: A Still Open Challenge
2022
Surgical postoperative pain is one of the key factors affecting patient recovery after a procedure and one of the most important elements to consider when dealing with new surgical approaches.
The Phylogeny of Linum and Linaceae Subfamily Linoideae, with Implications for Their Systematics, Biogeography, and Evolution of Heterostyly
2009
The genus Linum consists of over 180 species, the most famous being L. usitatissimum, the source of linen and linseed oil. The eight genera of Linaceae subf. Linoideae, of which Linum is the largest, exhibit a complex biogeographic distribution, inhabiting all continents except Antarctica. Numerous species in Linoideae are heterostylous, but the ancestral breeding system of the group has not been determined. We present phylogenetic analyses of 44 species representing all eight genera of subf. Linoideae and 37 species of Linum, with data from the chloroplast (ndhF, trnL-F, trnK3′ intron) and the nuclear ITS, with Hugonia (Linaceae subf. Hugonioideae) as outgroup. Sequences of rbcL from 48 sp…
Rilpivirine attenuates liver fibrosis through selective STAT1-mediated apoptosis in hepatic stellate cells
2020
ObjectiveLiver fibrosis constitutes a major health problem worldwide due to its rapidly increasing prevalence and the lack of specific and effective treatments. Growing evidence suggests that signalling through cytokine-activated Janus kinase (JAK)-signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) pathways regulates liver fibrosis and regeneration. Rilpivirine (RPV) is a widely used anti-HIV drug not reported to produce hepatotoxicity. We aimed to describe the potential hepatoprotective effects of RPV in different models of chronic liver injury, focusing on JAK-STAT signalling regulation.DesignThe effects of RPV on hepatic steatosis, inflammation and fibrogenesis were studied in a nut…
