Lai noskaidrotu nozīmīgākos Eiropā retās meža silpurenes Pulsatilla patens augšanu un vairošanos ietekmējošos faktorus, 2020. gada pavasarī un vasarā četrās teritorijās tika apsekoti 43 parauglaukumi. Tika noteikti sugu projektīvie segumi, nobiru un atmirušo augu segumi un atklātās augsnes laukums, kā arī veģetācijas atjaunošanās parauglaukumos, kuros 2019. gada pavasarī bija noņemta zemsedze. Tika analizēta iegūto datu saistība ar Pulsatilla patens demogrāfiskajiem un augsnes ķīmiskajiem un morfoloģiskajiem parametriem. No evidence for efficacy of intrathecal verapamil in the treatment of tonic-clonic status epilepticus

In two patients with refractory generalized tonic-clonic status epilepticus, 15 mg of the calcium antagonist verapamil was given by suboccipital intrathecal administration. During a 2–6-h observation period, seizure frequency did not decrease. However, in one patient, verapamil induced severe hypotension. Subsequent thiopental anesthesia suppressed convulsions immediately. Our results indicate that, in contradistinction to animal studies with different administration techniques, intrathecal administration of verapamil does not produce any anticonvulsant effect in humans.
A Conversational Agent Based on a Conceptual Interpretation of a Data Driven Semantic Space

In this work we propose an interpretation of the LSA framework which leads to a data-driven “conceptual” space creation suitable for an “intuitive” conversational agent. The proposed approach allows overcoming the limitations of traditional, rule-based, chat-bots, leading to a more natural dialogue.
A word prediction methodology for automatic sentence completion

Word prediction generally relies on n-grams occurrence statistics, which may have huge data storage requirements and does not take into account the general meaning of the text. We propose an alternative methodology, based on Latent Semantic Analysis, to address these issues. An asymmetric Word-Word frequency matrix is employed to achieve higher scalability with large training datasets than the classic Word-Document approach. We propose a function for scoring candidate terms for the missing word in a sentence. We show how this function approximates the probability of occurrence of a given candidate word.
