Fluence effect on ion-implanted As diffusion in relaxed SiGe

A systematic study on the fluence (5 × 108 − 4 × 1014 cm−2) dependence of ion-implanted As diffusion in relaxed Si1 − xGex alloys (with x = 0.2, 0.35 and 0.5) and silicon has been performed by the modified radiotracer and secondary ion mass spectrometry techniques. With fluences above 4 × 1011 cm−2 a clear fluence-dependent enhancement in arsenic diffusion was noted for Si1 − xGex. In case of arsenic-implanted silicon such fluence dependency was not observed. This can be assigned to enhanced implantation-induced damage formation and more deficient radiation damage recovery of SiGe.

Ion track template technology for fabrication of CdTe and CdO nanocrystals

Abstract CdTe and CdO nanocrystals were synthesized by chemical deposition into a-SiO2/n-Si ion track template formed by 200 MeV Xe ion irradiation with the fluence of 108 ions/cm2. Depending on the temperature of the solution CdTe + CdO and single-phase CdO with a hexagonal crystal structure were obtained, respectively. The study of the current – voltage characteristics of the obtained structure with the single-phase CdO allows us to estimate the number of grain boundaries and the height of the potential barrier, as well as the n-type conductivity.

On the solution of a parabolic PDE involving a gas flow through a semi-infinite porous medium

Abstract Taking as start point the parabolic partial differential equation with the respective initial and boundary conditions, the present research focuses onto the flow of a sample of waste-water derived from a standard/conventional dyeing process. Single crystal-like thin films of blue bronze

Abstract Pulsed laser deposition technique was employed to grow thin films of K 0.3 M o O 3 on A l 2 O 3 (1-102) and S r T i O 3 (510) substrates. Structural and imaging characterization revealed good quality films with well oriented grains of few microns in length. Both non-selective (transport) and order-selective (femtosecond pump-probe spectroscopy) probes revealed charge density wave properties that are very close to those of the single crystals. Arene C−H Activation at Aluminium(I): meta Selectivity Driven by the Electronics of S N Ar Chemistry

The reactivity of the electron-rich anionic Al(I) ('aluminyl') compound K 2 [(NON)Al] 2 (NON = 4,5-bis(2,6-diisopropylanilido)-2,7-di- tert -butyl-9,9-dimethylxanthene) towards mono- and disubstituted arenes is reported. C-H activation chemistry with n -butylbenzene gives exclusively the product of activation at the arene meta position. Mechanistically, this transformation proceeds in a single step via a concerted Meisenheimer-type transition state. Selectivity is therefore based on similar electronic factors to classical S N Ar chemistry, which implies the destabilization of transition states featuring electron-donating groups in either the ortho or the para positions. On the basis of high-throughput screening, fragment-based drug discovery, structure–activity relationships and building block analysis methods, herein we report the synthesis and biological evaluation of a novel series of diethyl 2,5-diaminothiophene-3,4-dicarboxylate derivatives. All of the prepared Schiff bases (with mono-, di- and poly-substituents at the aromatic portion), mono- and bis-amides of diethyl 2,5-diaminothiophene-3,4-dicarboxylate, were evaluated against various human cancer and non-cancerous (only for active compounds) cell lines, as well as influenza A (subtypes FM/1/47/H1N1, hanfang/359/95/H3N2) and B (subtype jifang/13/97) viruses.
