A continuous time tug-of-war game for parabolic $p(x,t)$-Laplace type equations

We formulate a stochastic differential game in continuous time that represents the unique viscosity solution to a terminal value problem for a parabolic partial differential equation involving the normalized $p(x,t)$-Laplace operator. Our game is formulated in a way that covers the full range $1<p(x,t)<\infty$. Furthermore, we prove the uniqueness of viscosity solutions to our equation in the whole space under suitable assumptions.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the effect of political connections in the value of companies listed on the Spanish stock market. Design/methodology/approach The authors study two issues on this topic: the impact on the company value of the appointment as director of an ex-politician through an event study; and the long run stock market performance of companies with political connections. The authors employ a sample of listed firms in the Spanish stock market for which the authors collected data about their political connections. The new IASB and FASB models for leases aim to improve the quality of financial reporting. To this end, both standard setters impose the recognition of assets and liabilities for operating leases. Meanwhile, preparers have been strongly lobbying against these changes, as in their view the new treatment will lead to negative economic consequences. We undertake a value‐relevance study to examine whether as‐if capitalised operating leases are priced by market users in a relatively unexplored setting. The relationship between master’s thesis work and teachers’ professional development has rarely been explored empirically, yet. Drawing upon a larger study, this paper investigates how teachers who were studying for or who have recently graduated from Master of Education programmes offered in five countries – Poland, Portugal, England, Latvia, Romania – perceive the usefulness of dissertation/thesis work for their professional development and how they attempt to use their MA research results in their (future) teaching practice. Minority Languages and Markets

This chapter explores how minority languages figure in economic development and are invested with values of expertise, distinction and authenticity. Drawing on previous research, including the authors’ own studies on minority and indigenous language practices and discourses in peripheral, multilingual Irish and Sami sites, the chapter discusses the changing and expanding role of minority languages in some key economic domains: advertising and marketing, tourism, the media and job markets. It reflects on the conditions and consequences of economic processes for the exchange value of minority languages in changing markets.

Abstract The International Criminal Court (ICC) represents a criminal justice setting exceptionally welcoming to discourse scholars. The court website provides ample information about ongoing cases, hearings are livestreamed, and transcripts, video footage, and other relevant documents are available online. Against this background of comprehensive transparency, this paper explores the additional value of physically attending ICC trial hearings. Synthesis and characterization of new 1,4 and 1,5-disubstituted glucopyranosyl 1,2,3-triazole by 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition

Abstract A series of 1,4 and 1,5-disubstituted 1-(β- d -glucopyranosyl)-1,2,3-triazoles has been prepared in an efficient manner with excellent yields using the intermolecular 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of 1-azido-2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-β- d -glucopyranose 2 to a variety of substituted alkynes phenylacethylene 3, propargyl alcohol 4, 2-butyn-1,4-diol, 5, 3-propargylbenzimidazole 6 and propargylpyrazole 7 in toluene. The reaction takes place with the formation of both 4- and 5-regioisomers.
Magic informationally complete POVMs with permutations

Eigenstates of permutation gates are either stabilizer states (for gates in the Pauli group) or magic states, thus allowing universal quantum computation [M. Planat and Rukhsan-Ul-Haq, Preprint 1701.06443]. We show in this paper that a subset of such magic states, when acting on the generalized Pauli group, define (asymmetric) informationally complete POVMs. Such IC-POVMs, investigated in dimensions $2$ to $12$, exhibit simple finite geometries in their projector products and, for dimensions $4$ and $8$ and $9$, relate to two-qubit, three-qubit and two-qutrit contextuality.
Syntheses and properties of tetrathio- and tetraseleno metalates [(C5Me4R)2NbE2]2M (E=S, Se; M=Cr, Mo; R=Me, Et) with peripheric niobocene ligands

Abstract Reactions of Cp*2Nb(η2-S2)H 1 (Cp*=C5Me5 (a), C5Me4Et (b)) and Cp*2Nb(η2-Se2H) 3 with 0.5 equivalents of M(CO)6 (M=Cr, Mo) in boiling toluene give the CO free complexes [Cp*2NbE2]2M 4–7. X-ray diffraction analyses have been carried out for the Mo complexes 5a (E=S) and 7a (E=Se) showing that the structures contain ME4 tetrahedral cores with two attached niobocene ligands thus forming a nearly linear trimetallic unit. Absorption spectra and electrochemical studies of complexes 4–7 are described. Characteristic of the novel CrSe4 chromophor are four reversible one electron redox steps. Chemical oxidation of 4a and 5a with [(C5H5)2Fe]PF6 gives the salts {[Cp*2NbS2]2M}PF6 (M=Cr, Mo) 10…
