Sport and wellness technology devices are becoming an increasingly relevant topic when discussing health and wellness. This study focuses on the use of a “digital coach”, within a specific population, young elderly people. This research explored how the use of a digital coach would affect self-efficacy related to physical activity and exercise among young elderly. Staying inside : social withdrawal of the young, Finnish ‘Hikikomori’

This article explores socially withdrawn young Finnish people on an Internet forum who identify with the Japanese hikikomori phenomenon. We aim to overcome the dualism between sociology and psychology found in earlier research by referring to Pierre Bourdieu, who provides insights into how individual choices are constructed in accordance with wider social settings. We focus on the individual level and everyday choices, but we suggest that psychological factors (anxiety, depression) can be seen as properties of social relations rather than as individual states of mind, as young adults have unequal access to valued resources. Relationship between trophic state and plankton community structure in 21 Sicilian dam reservoirs

The relationship between the trophic state of 21 Sicilian dam reservoirs and their taxonomic community structure of phytoplankton (87 taxa) as well as zooplankton (45 taxa) have been examined by means of cluster analysis performed using annual average biomass values. The phytoplankton community structure was closely connected with the trophic state of the reservoirs, whereas the zooplankton community structure was related to hydrological regimes peculiar to the individual water bodies and not to the trophic state. © 1994 Kluwer Academic Publishers.

Women in Aeschylean scene: a linguistic characterization

Este trabalho examina os dispositivos linguísticos por meio dos quais Ésquilo conseguiu apresentar as personagens femininas da Oresteia. A análise é feita após um levantamento das seções recitativas de três tragédias; características fonéticas, morfológicas e sintáticas foram estudadas e comparadas com a linguagem dos personagens masculinos. Os resultados desta pesquisa se ajustam a outras tentativas precedentes de mostrar como a sociolinguística pode explicar o retrato formal dos personagens trágicos e cômicos. Hydrodistillation of the flowers (BpFl) of and fruits (BpFr) of Bupleurum fontanesii Guss. ex Caruel gave two oils that were analyzed by GC and GC-MS. The main components were α-elemol (16.7%), caryophyllene oxide (16.4%) and heptacosane (15.9%) in BpFl, and spathulenol (16.8%), caryophylladienol I (13.2%) and α-elemol (12.8%) in BpFr. A good antimicrobial activity against several microorganisms, including Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Fusarium oxysporum and Aspergillus niger, all infesting historical art craft, was also determined.

Tieliikenteessä ilmenevien ongelmien, kuten onnettomuuksien ja ruuhkien ratkaisuissa on alettu hyödyntää tieto- ja viestintäteknologiaa. Tällaisia ratkaisuja kutsutaan älykkäiksi liikennejärjestelmiksi. Älykkäiden liikennejärjestelmien avulla voidaan lisätä tärkeän ja hyödyllisen tiedon vaihtoa tiellä liikkujien kesken.
