When referring to migrants, the collective representation sees them as recipients of services offered by the third sector and not, in the first instance, as actors actively engaged in associative processes. Addressing the issue of the relationship between migrants and the third sector implies, therefore, proposing a change of perspective that leads to think of migrants (also this rather wide category) not as direct beneficiaries, as victims in need, but as protagonists actively engaged in the institutions or as collaborators, experts, employees, therefore paid, or as volunteers, free of charge.

In this work we present a study of how environmental sustainability deals with on secondary school centres. The analysis includes the current status in teaching chemistry at secondary level: laboratory teaching, classroom books and the point of view of chemistry teachers about the environmental hazard of some of the chemicals used along in these tasks. El presente trabajo pretende mostrar los logros conseguidos en los laboratorios docentes de la Facultad de Química de la Universidad de Valencia tras el proceso de reducción de las cantidades con las que los estudiantes realizan las prácticas de química. El cambio de modelo de trabajo a una escala más reducida permite una serie de ventajas económicas y medioambientales como consecuencia de la disminución en las cantidades de residuos generados.

Literatūras apskatā apkopota informācija par ķīmijas laboratoriju darba vides raksturojumu un nozares vispārējo stāvokli Latvijā, iekļaujot statistikas datus par arodnegadījumiem Latvijas un ārzemju laboratorijās. Otrajā daļā ir aprakstītas pētījumā lietotās metodes, bet trešajā daļā ir iegūto datu apkopošana un rezultātu analīzes izklāsts. Izstrādāti preventīvie pasākumi. Iegūtie pētījuma rezultāti ļauj secināt, ka pētītās laboratorijas vispārējā risku novērtējumā ir pieņemams risks, II riska pakāpe. FACS-based protocol to assess cytotoxicity and clonogenic potential of colorectal cancer stem cells using a Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway reporter

Summary Cancer stem cells (CSCs) play a key role in tumor initiation and progression. A real-time tool to evaluate the activation of CSC-specific signaling pathways is crucial for the study of this cancer cell subset. Here, we present a protocol to monitor, in vitro, the activation of Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, which is considered a functional biomarker for colorectal CSCs (CR-CSCs). This flow-cytometry-based protocol allows it to isolate CR-CSCs and to evaluate their cytotoxicity upon anti-tumor treatments.
