Cladosins L-O, new hybrid polyketides from the endophytic fungus Cladosporium sphaerospermum WBS017

Abstract The endophytic fungus Cladosporium sphaerospermum WBS017 was obtained from healthy bulbs of Fritillaria unibracteata var. wabuensis. Fermentation of C. sphaerospermum on solid rice medium yielded three new hybrid polyketides, cladosins L−N (1–3), and a known derivative cladodionen (4). Further cultivation of this fungus on white bean medium afforded an additional new hybrid polyketide, cladosin O (5) along with three known analogues (6–8). The structures of the new compounds were elucidated using a combination of NMR and HRESIMS data. Quality, functional and sensory evaluation of pasta fortified with extracts from Opuntia ficus-indica cladodes

Background The stems of Opuntia ficus-indica, known as cladodes, are a rich source of soluble fibers, which makes them an important candidate for the production of functional foods. Tagliatelle of durum wheat fortified with Opuntia cladode extract (OCE) at different levels of addition (10-30%, v/w) was prepared on a laboratory scale and quality characteristics and sensory acceptability were assessed. Results The main quality parameters (optimal cooking time, swelling index, cooking loss, dry matter) and sensory analysis on a nine-point hedonic scale were comparable with those of the control pasta sample (no added OCE) when durum wheat was supplemented with OCE at up to 20% (v/w). This study aims to assess rates of sickness presenteeism in a sample of Spanish-born and foreign-born workers according to different characteristics. En el valle medio del río Duero y en su margen derecha, pocos kilómetros al norte del cauce fluvial y de las localidades de Pesquera y Peñafiel, se encuentra Piñel de Abajo, un enclave conocido en la bibliografía como lugar de origen de tres inscripciones funerarias romanas. Unos kilómetros al norte de Piñel de Abajo, entre los ríos Esgueva y Duero, discurre el arroyo Jaramiel, que da nombre a una dehesa y caserío de Jaramiel de donde parecen proceder los epígrafes. El objetivo principal del siguiente artículo será mostrar por qué es necesario un pensamiento como el de Kierkegaard en los tiempos actuales. Para al-canzar tal fin, este artículo se estructurará en cuatro partes. En una primera parte explicaré las características peculiares del pensamiento de Sören Kierkegaard, a saber, lo que significa ser un pensador atribulado, postmetafísico y religioso. En una segunda parte me detendré en cómo leer a Kierkegaard; para ello me centraré en el papel que la pseudonimia y la comunicación indirecta ocupan en la obra del filósofo danés.
