Airborne Laser Scanning (ALS) results in point-wise measurements of canopy height, which can further be used for Individual Tree Detection (ITD). However, ITD cannot find all trees because small trees can hide below larger tree crowns. Here we discuss methods where the plot totals and means of tree-level characteristics are estimated in such context. The starting point is a previously presented Horvitz–Thompson-like (HT-like) estimator, where the detectability is based on the larger tree crowns and a tuning parameter that models the detection condition. The accuracy and reliability of these methods should also be tested in various populations and different cultural contexts. This article maps the management actions that Finnish universities have taken during the COVID-19 pandemic and studies how managers in Finnish higher education coped during the crisis and how they feel about it. For the last two decades, Finnish universities have faced the implementation of new systems of control and undergone dramatic changes that have worsened academic working conditions–such as corporatisation and budget cuts. Koulun johtamisella on keskeinen rooli ikääntyneiden opettajien työhyvinvointiin ja jaksamiseen. Tässä tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin yli 30 vuoden työuran tehneitä liikunnanopettajia ja kahta liikunnanopettajataustaista rehtoria. Tavoitteena oli saada tietoa siitä, mitkä asiat koulun johtamisessa ovat vaikuttaneet liikunnanopettajien työhyvinvointiin ja viihtymiseen työuran aikana. Teemahaastatteluina kerätty aineisto analysoitiin sisällönanalyysin keinoin. Tutkitut liikunnanopettajat olivat innostuneita työstään, mikä voimaannutti heitä.
