Correlated gluonic hot spots meet symmetric cumulants data at LHC energies

We present a systematic study on the influence of spatial correlations between the proton constituents, in our case gluonic hot spots, their size and their number on the symmetric cumulant SC(2, 3), at the eccentricity level, within a Monte Carlo Glauber framework [1]. When modeling the proton as composed by 3 gluonic hot spots, the most common assumption in the literature, we find that the inclusion of spatial correlations is indispensable to reproduce the negative sign of SC(2, 3) in the highest centrality bins as dictated by data. D'autre part, les différents articles offrent, à côté de corpus manuscrits déjà bien étudiés tels que Flaubert et Proust, des investigations sur des auteurs qui ne sont que rarement analysés dans le cadre d'études de genèse, qu'il s'agisse de Butor - dont on présente ici des manuscrits inédits - Némirovsky, Malraux ou Pavese.
Nuclear modification of forward Drell-Yan production at the LHC

Forward Drell-Yan production at high energy can provide important constraints on gluon densities at small $x$, in the saturation regime. In this work we focus on the nuclear modification of this process, which could be measured at the LHC in the near future. For this we employ the color dipole approach, using the optical Glauber model to relate the dipole cross section of a nucleus to the one of a proton. Combining these results with our earlier results for forward $J/\psi$ production, we compute the ratio of the nuclear modification factors of these two processes. Forward rapidity isolated photon production in proton-nucleus collisions

We calculate isolated photon production at forward rapidities in proton-nucleus collisions in the Color Glass Condensate framework. Our calculation uses dipole cross sections solved from the running coupling Balitsky-Kovchegov equation with an initial condition fit to deep inelastic scattering data and extended to nuclei with an optical Glauber procedure that introduces no additional parameters beyond the basic nuclear geometry. We present predictions for future forward RHIC and LHC measurements. The paper discusses the theme of a stupid husband in three texts of French Realism and Naturalism: a novel by Gustave Flaubert and two short stories by Emile Zola and Guy de Maupassant. The main reference for the analysis is a paper by Stefan Symotiuk who divides the category of “fools” into several subcategories, according to reasons and signs of their stupidity. In agreement with Symotiuk’s thought, Flaubert’s Charles Bovary can be considered as a “blockhead”, dull but always glad with himself; Zola’s Mr Chabre is a “dolt”, heavily thinking and likely to hoax; finally, Maupassant’s Mr Lantin is a “dupe”, easily cheated because unable to see things as they are. We used the three latest rounds of the religion module of International Social Survey Programme to study secularization in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, focusing on belief in God. We restricted our sample to the affiliated with the majority Protestant churches and the unaffiliated and analyzed the trends toward disaffiliation and disbelief in God. Then, we studied the association between confidence in churches, religious/secular upbringing, and demographic controls with belief in God using multinomial logistic regression models.
