A revision of the structure and stratigraphy of pre-Green Tuff ignimbrites at Pantelleria (Strait of Sicily)

International audience; At Pantelleria, peralkaline silicic magmas were erupted across a range of eruptive typologies and magnitudes: pyroclastic flows, Plinian to strombolian pumice fallout and lava flows. In this paper we focus on the intermediate cycle of eruptive activity which is bracketed by ignimbrite units slightly older than the two caldera collapses which marked the volcanological activity of the island. This age interval (180-85 ka) was punctuated by six ignimbrite-forming eruptions (silicic and variably peralkaline) for a cumulative erupted magma volume of approximately 6 km3 dense rock equivalent. Le aree mediterranee italiane presentano una notevole biodiversità vegetale, nell’ambito della quale particolare importanza assumono le piante aromatiche e medicinali, collettivamente definite “officinali”. Nel presente lavoro, si riportano i risultati di alcune prove preliminari di coltivazione in pieno campo di tre specie autoctone di interesse officinale. Development of Henneguya zschokkei (Myxozoa: Myxosporea) actinospores in oligochaetes and plasmodia in whitefish Coregonous lavaretus

The aim of this study was to describe the life cycle of H. zschokkei by observing the development of actinospores in oligochaete and the morphological development of H. zschokkei cysts in whitefish. Laboratory observation of seasonal occurrence of actinospores sampled from oligochaetes from RTKL Tervo Fish Farm revealed 6 types of actinospores from collective groups of Triactinomyxon, Raabeia and Aurantiactinomyxon in 2010, and 3 types of actinospores in 2011. Abstract In this study, novel polymeric nanoparticles (NPs) were developed and their potential as carriers for beclomethasone dipropionate (BDP) into the lung after aerosolization was demonstrated by in vivo studies in mice. A comparative investigation on the acute phototoxicity of retene to vendace (Coregonus albula) and whitefish (C. lavaretus), both having pelagial larvae in spring, was conducted. To test the concept of early warning of sublethal biomarkers in relation to lethality to posthatch stages, we examined the effects of ultraviolet-B (UV-B) and retene on the levels of cytochrome P4501A (CYP1A) and heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) by exposing the animals to elevated levels of these factors for 48 and 72 h, respectively. Fluticasone propionate aqueous nasal spray (FPANS) is a topically active glucocorticoid which has been successfully used for the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis (SAR). Topical levocabastine is a highly selective H1 antagonist which has been proposed as an alternative treatment of SAR. Siian rakkoloisio (Henneguya zschokkei) on Myxozoa-pääjaksoon kuuluva itiöloinen. Myxozoa-loisilla on monimutkainen elämänkierto, joka pitää sisällään sekä selkärangattoman että selkärankaisen isäntäeliön. Siian rakkoloision pääisäntä on harvasukamato (Oligochaeta) ja väli-isäntä on siika (Coregonus lavaretus). Rakkoloisiota on tavattu mahdollisesti myös muikulla (C. albula).
