Monitoring programme on cadmium, lead and mercury in fish and seafood from Valencia, Spain: levels and estimated weekly intake.

The study was carried out to determine the current levels of mercury, cadmium, and lead in fish and seafood from the market of Comunitat Valenciana, Spain. Levels of total mercury ranged from 0.02 to 3.15 mg kg⁻¹ w.w. (average = 0.073 mg kg⁻¹ w.w.). Cadmium concentrations ranged from 0.003 to 0.66 mg kg⁻¹ w.w. (average = 0.27 mg kg⁻¹ w.w.) for seafood, and between 0.003 and 0.71 mg kg⁻¹ w.w. (average = 0.01 mg kg⁻¹ w.w.) for marine fish. Concerning lead, concentrations from 0.02 to 0.36 mg kg⁻¹ w.w (average = 0.04 mg kg⁻¹ w.w.) were found in fish, and from 0.02 to 1.02 mg kg⁻¹ w.w. in seafood (average = 0.147 mg kg⁻¹ w.w.). In order to gain more knowledge on how the positive leadership concept of authentic leadership impacts follower strain, this study tries to uncover procedural justice as an underlying mechanism. In contrast to previous work, we exclusively base our theoretical model on justice theories. Specifically, we hypothesize that authentic leadership negatively predicts emotional exhaustion through perceptions of procedural justice. We assume that this indirect effect is conditional on followers’ amount of emotional demands, and that the procedural justice-emotional exhaustion relationship is stronger when emotional demands are high. Linking empowering leadership to safety participation in nuclear power plants: a structural equation model.

Abstract Introduction Safety participation is of paramount importance in guaranteeing the safe running of nuclear power plants. Method The present study examined the effects of empowering leadership on safety participation. Results Based on a sample of 495 employees from two Spanish nuclear power plants, structural equation modeling showed that empowering leadership has a significant relationship with safety participation, which is mediated by collaborative team learning. Cultural and communicational traits of oral health care: results of a Finnish case study.

This paper aims to describe the cultural and communicational traits of Finnish oral health care. First, employees' views and experiences regarding their organization and their position within it are investigated and, second, relations between different individual and organizational factors are analyzed. Cardiac output in single-lead VDD pacing versus rate-matched VVIR pacing.

The importance of atrioventricular synchronous pacing compared with single-chamber rate-responsive pacing is still under discussion, especially for low-intensity workload representing daily life activities. We evaluated hemodynamics in single-lead VDD pacing versus VVIR pacing in 11 patients (8 men and 3 women, aged 58.6 +/- 13.8 years) with normal left ventricular function and a previously implanted single-lead VDDR pacemaker. Perception of Coaching Behaviors, Coping, and Achievement in a Sport Competition

This study examined the relationship between perceived coaching behaviors, coping strategies during a sport competition, and sport achievement. A prospective design was used in which 80 athletes from individual sports completed measures of perceived coaching behaviors two days before a competition (Time 1) and measures of coping and sport achievement within three hours after a sport competition (Time 2). As expected, results of multiple regressions indicated that supportive coaching was a positive predictor of task-oriented coping and sport achievement whereas unsupportive coaching was a positive predictor of disengagement-oriented coping.
