Kappaleen sisäisen tarkastelutilavuuden rekonstruointi röntgentomografiassa

Röntgentomografia on kuvantamismenetelmä, jonka avulla kappaleesta pystytään muodostamaan kolmiulotteinen rekonstruktio ilman kappaleen rikkomista. Tutkittavasta näytteestä otetaan useasta eri suunnasta varjokuvia, joista lasketaan kappaleen rakenteen paljastavia poikkileikekuvia. Jyväskylän yliopiston fysiikan laitoksella tutkitaan heterogeenisia materiaaleja röntgenmikrotomografialla, joka mahdollistaa mikrometrien kokoluokkaa olevan erotuskyvyn saavuttamisen. Tavanomaisia rekonstruktioalgoritmeja käytettäessä on tärkeää, että tutkittava kappale mahtuu kokonaisuudessaan jokaiseen otettuun varjokuvaan. Detection of natural killer T cells in mice infected with Rickettsia conorii.

Little information is available regarding the role of natural killer T (NKT) cells during the early stage of Rickettsia conorii infection. Herein, C3H/HeN mice were infected with the Malish 7 strain of R. conorii. Splenocytes from these mice were analysed in the early stage of the infection by flow cytometry and compared with uninfected controls. Our results showed an increase in NKT cells in infected mice. Additionally, NKT interleukin (IL)-17(+) cells increased three days after infection, together with a concurrent decrease in the relative amount of NKT interferon (IFN)-γ(+) cells. The nature of metal−metal bonding in group 13 dimetallenes REER (E = Al, Ga, In, Tl; R = H, Me, tBu, Ph) was investigated by use of quantum chemical methods that include HF, second order Møller−Plesset perturbation theory (MP2), coupled cluster (CCSD(T)), complete active space with (CASPT2) and without (CAS) second order perturbation theory, and two density functionals, namely, B3LYP and M06-2X. Supermesityl selenium diimide [Se{N(C6H2tBu3-2, 4, 6)}2; Se{N(mes*)}2] can be prepared in a good yield from the reaction of SeCl4 and (mes*)NHLi. The molecule adopts an unprecedented anti, anti-conformation, as deduced by DFT calculations at PBE0/TZVP level of theory and supported by 77Se NMR spectroscopy and a crystal structure determination. An analogous reaction involving (C6H2Me3-2, 4, 6)NHLi [(mes)NHLi] unexpectedly lead to the reduction of selenium and afforded the selenium diamide Se{NH(mes)}2 that was characterized by X-ray crystallography and 77Se NMR spectroscopy. Seleeni on ihmisille tärkeä hivenaine, mutta väli riittävän päivittäisannostuksen ja myrkyllisen annoksen välillä on suhteellisen kapea. Tämän vuoksi seleenin tarkka analytiikka on erittäin tärkeää. Tämän tutkielman kirjallisessa osassa kuvataan seleenin kemialliset ominaisuudet sekä terveysvaikutukset hivenaineena. Suomessa elintarvikkeiden riittävää ja turvallista seleenipitoisuutta säädellään seleenilannoituksin. Tutkielmassa tarkastellaan myös tämän lannoituksen vaikutusta elintarvikkeiden seleenipitoisuuksiin.
