Real symplectic formulation of local special geometry

We consider a formulation of local special geometry in terms of Darboux special coordinates $P^I=(p^i,q_i)$, $I=1,...,2n$. A general formula for the metric is obtained which is manifestly $\mathbf{Sp}(2n,\mathbb{R})$ covariant. Unlike the rigid case the metric is not given by the Hessian of the real function $S(P)$ which is the Legendre transform of the imaginary part of the holomorphic prepotential. Rather it is given by an expression that contains $S$, its Hessian and the conjugate momenta $S_I=\frac{\partial S}{\partial P^I}$. Only in the one-dimensional case ($n=1$) is the real (two-dimensional) metric proportional to the Hessian with an appropriate conformal factor.
Stability analysis of an electromagnetically levitated sphere

We present a combined numerical and analytical approach to analyze the static and dynamic stabilities of an electromagnetically levitated spherical body depending on the ac frequency and the configuration of a three-dimensional (3D) coil made of thin winding which is modeled by linear current filaments. First, we calculate numerically the magnetic vector potential in grid points on the surface of the sphere and then use Legendre and fast Fourier transforms to find the expansion of the magnetic field in terms of spherical harmonics. Evaluation of legendre functions of argument greater than one

Abstract In this paper we present an algorithm to evaluate Legendre functions of the first and second kinds ( P v , Q v ) for integraland half-integral order and argument greater than one. The code is based on the calculation of the continued fraction for the Q 's. the Wronskian relating P 's and Q 's and the application of forward recurrence relations for the P 's and backward recurrence for the Q 's. We also show an application of these algorithms to the evaluation of the electrostatic field due to a charged toroidal conductor at potential V .

El artículo se centra después en la bilogía dramática que Lope escribió sobre los orígenes de esta familia: Los Tellos de Meneses y Valor, fortuna y lealtad (segunda parte de Los Tellos de Meneses). Por un lado, se pretende estudiar dos muestras de la versión teatral española de la leyenda de Amis y Amiles, representada por La sutil maraña de los dos fieles y parescidos amigos Luis y Alejandro y los sucesos de Alejandro y cómo por su saber vino a ser rey de Egipto (BNE, mss. 15049) y Los pronósticos de Alejandre (BNE, mss. 16064) y su conexión con el capítulo 21 de los Siete Sabios de Roma.
