Il potere dell‟aulos e i suoi effetti sull‟animo erano così emblematici per i Greci da far loro trasformare lo strumento e le sue sonorità in una metafora di persuasione, come si riscontra in alcuni dialoghi di Platone. Da un altro punto di vista, però, l‟aulos fu anche uno strumento „perturbante‟, come appare ad esempio nella tragedia. In tale contesto esso sembra operare sulle paure (phobos) e le insicurezze dei personaggi tragici, e talora addirittura condurre agli sviluppi conclusivi della performance teatrale. The power of the aulos and its therapeutic effects on the soul are so emblematic for the Greeks that, on the one hand, they made this instrument and its sounds into a metaphor of persuasion and, on the other, they emphasized its upsetting effects, as happens for instance in some tragedies. The aulos sometimes contributes to the development of a drama, and may play a role in the development of tragic catharsis by reminding the audience of the cathartic Dionysiac rites. In this way, tragedy seems to have performed a meaningful ‘therapeutic’ effect on the emotions of the theatre audience.

The article intends to synthetically reconstruct a line of development of the Italian narrative contemporary, from the nineties onwards, based on the concept of authenticity, vast and rich in applications in the most disparate fields (juridical, philosophical, artistic). After a brief review of four emblematic cases for the use of authenticity rhetoric (Siti, Moresco, Mozzi, non-fiction), the article offers a brief overview of the narrative of last twenty years. Oggetto del contributo è la questione dell’autorialità in tre composizioni iconotestuali e autobiografiche di Michele Mari: Filologia dell’anfibio. Diario militare (1995), Asterusher. Autobiografia per feticci (2015) e Leggenda privata (2017). Nel diario, Filologia dell’anfibio, Mari racconta nella forma di uno pseudo-trattato il periodo trascorso presso il Centro Addestramento Reclute di Como. Il testo è illustrato da disegni tratti dai propri diari dell’epoca. In Asterusher. Autobiografia per feticci, ricalcando la forma tripartita dell’emblematica, Mari ha giustapposto le fotografie di oggetti familiari e alcune citazioni tratte dalle sue opere precedenti. The aim of the paper is to analyze the narrative and photographic thresholds of Leggenda privata by Michele Mari (2017). The first case is a rhetorical artifice, a horror-gothic-fantastic narrative threshold, that Mari creates to distinguish the present of writing from the past of memories, intended, as I will try to demonstrate, to problematize the crucial questions of autobiography: incipit and explicit of the narration, literature and bios, fiction and non-fiction. Aylesbury Estate (2020) è un lungometraggio documentario sul noto complesso abitativo di social housing londinese, nel quale ho abitato per alcuni anni. Il film, da me diretto tra il 2017 e il 2020, segue il percorso esistenziale ed emotivo di alcuni residenti dell’Aylesbury mentre si fa strada il lungo processo di demolizione dello stesso. Nel ripercorrere il processo di realizzazione del film e attraverso l’analisi di alcune sequenze del film finito, questo articolo propone uno ‘sguardo di ascolto’ per condurre ricerca sul campo attraverso il mezzo filmico.
