La lexicografia general i la normativa

As a starting point we take the real needs of the present language users, specially those professionals of linguistic Services, in order to get a clear picture of which of their needs could be satisfied by a general language dictionary and which by a normative dictionary. The vagueness of the concept «normativity» is pointed out and the opinion is expressed that it is not easy to define in a precise way which of the needs mentioned ought to be the subject of normativity. The article concludes with a series of concrete examples which illustrate the concepts presented.

The author of the article has run an experiment based on extracting a portion of phraseology from an online Russian language dictionary for further corpus-driven study. On the basis of the list of 100 most common Russian nouns the author has constructed queries to the Грамота.ру web portal that led to extracting over 600 idioms. These were subsequently used to perform another search in the Russian National Corpus. The main goal of this article is to construct a small dictionary of phraseological units extracted from Грамота.ру, as well as discuss the problem of evaluation of phraseology with the use of corpus-extracted data. This study investigates the reasons for Alberti's uncommon celebrity for over a century, from the first publication of his dictionary (1771-1772) until 1881, when he was still held up as a model by other lexicographers. While compiling his bilingual dictionary, Alberti referred to the monolingual dictionaries of the Académie franaise (4th edition, 1762) and the Accademici della Crusca (4th edition, 1729-1738), but he also drew from the works of other lexicographers, especially Diderot and d'Alembert, whom he only marginally quotes for political reasons. This article focuses on the place that proper names originating from rock, or popular music in general, take or could take in dictionaries of proper names. It starts with an overview of onomástica published thus far, revealing a limited interest of Polish researchers in proper nouns related to this form of artistic activity. This discovery prompted the author to share his suggestions regarding such an onomasticon, or even onomástica, where names from popular music and specific categories would take a central place.
