LE SANZIONI PER LE PERSONE GIURIDICHE NEI SISTEMI DI RESPONSABILITÀ DA REATO: SPUNTI DI CONFRONTO FRA SUD-AMERICA ED EUROPA
2019
The analysis of the sanctions for corporate criminal liability is conducted in a comparative perspective on two-fold level and scope. In the first place, the study consider the sanctions adopted in South-American jurisdictions which have introduced such responsibility, especially in the last twenty years, based on the UN instruments to contrast transnational organised crime and corruption. Then, the study will move to a parallel overview of the sanctions of EU jurisdictions. The analysis highlights analogies and differences both between the national systems from both contexts and between the two groups of jurisdictions. Overall, a process of ‘weak harmonisation’ is traced between the consid…
The new version of the pictorial scale of Perceived Movement Skill Competence in Spanish children: Evidence of validity and reliability. [La nueva ve…
2019
The purpose of this study was to i) examine reliability and construct validity of the pictorial scale of Perceived Movement Skill Competence (PMSC) aligned to the third version of the Test of Gross Motor Development (TGMD-3) in a sample of Spanish children; and to ii) analyse the validity of the PMSC and children’s perceived motor competence (MC) according to gender. A convenience sample of 361 children (55.7% boys) between 4 and 11 years-old participated. The pictorial scale of PMSC (19 items) was administered (a random subsample repeated the PMSC twice). Test-retest reliability using Intraclass Correlation Coefficients and construct validity using a Bayesian Structural Equation Modeling a…
Internet-based information and foreign direct investment (FDI) location decision making: An information cost perspective
2012
Published version of an article in the journal: African Journal of Business Management. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.5897/AJBM11.1203 Open Access Information and communication technology (ICT) is considered to play an important role to reduce information cost for potential foreign investors. While a growing body of literature has suggested such connections, conceptual clarity is yet to be achieved. This study introduces a conceptual framework based on the Information-theoretic approach and transaction cost perspective to explore how ICT may reduce information cost. To illustrate our proposed framework, we apply it to examine the role of Internet-based informati…
Does ns2 Really Simulate MPLS Networks?
2008
Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) is being used in many corporate networks and public infrastructures and as a backbone technology of many Autonomous Systems. Because of its importance, what is needed is to find out simulators able to simulate MPLS networks whose results reflect the real environment as much as possible. In this article, we will show real measurements from the Railway Infrastructure Administrator (ADIF, the Spanish railway infrastructure manager) MPLS network and we will compare them with the results obtained by the freeware simulator ns2. We will check the level of reliability provided by the simulator and we will know under which parameters its results will be similar …
Questions and controversies in the study of time-varying functional connectivity in resting fMRI.
2020
The brain is a complex, multiscale dynamical system composed of many interacting regions. Knowledge of the spatiotemporal organization of these interactions is critical for establishing a solid understanding of the brain’s functional architecture and the relationship between neural dynamics and cognition in health and disease. The possibility of studying these dynamics through careful analysis of neuroimaging data has catalyzed substantial interest in methods that estimate time-resolved fluctuations in functional connectivity (often referred to as “dynamic” or time-varying functional connectivity; TVFC). At the same time, debates have emerged regarding the application of TVFC analyses to re…
Introduzione a Vittorio Polacco, Le obbligazioni nel diritto civile italiano
2022
The introduction highlights the most significant contents of Vittorio Polacco's famous volume "The Obligations in Italian Civil Law", attempting to insert them into the scientific debate on obligations in early 20th century Europe. The study…
L’adempimento in natura dell'obbligazione in Italia
2022
The essay analyzes the remedy of the specific perfomance against the breach of contract in Italy in the light of the process of revision of the civil codes on …
The Australian Sheep-Goat Scale: An Evaluation of Factor Structure and Convergent Validity.
2018
The Australian Sheep-Goat Scale (ASGS) is a commonly used measure of belief in the paranormal. The scale contains items that index extrasensory perception (ESP), psychokinesis (PK), and life after death (LAD). Although, research employs the ASGS as both a general (unidimensional) and factorial (multidimensional) measure, few studies have examined the appropriateness of these solutions. Accordingly, the present paper tested the psychometric integrity of the ASGS via two studies. Study 1 assessed ASGS factorial structure using confirmatory factor analysis. To achieve this, merging of ASGS data from previously published studies and ongoing work created a heterogeneous sample of 1,601 responses…
Equivalent Circuit Modelling of Ferrite Inductors Losses
2018
The modelling of the magnetic losses in the core of ferrite inductors for power conversion circuits has been considered in this paper. On the basis of the Revised Generalized Steinmetz Model (RGSE) an equivalent circuital modelling has been obtained. The losses are modelled as an equivalent resistance connected in parallel to the inductor. The model has been tested under periodic triangular current waveforms.
