Polymer micronetwork spheres swollen in a good solvent can be regarded as colloids which require no special stabilisation to avoid aggregation. Their interactions can be timed by changing the degree of internal crosslinking. The phase behaviour and the static structure factor demonstrate that crosslink density of 1:10 (inverse number of monomer units between crosslinks) is sufficient to achieve hard sphere behaviour. Telechelic α,ω-macrozwitterions — narrowly distributed polystyrene chains oppositely charged at each end — were synthesized via anionic polymerization using direct functionalization with the initiator and the termination agent. The resulting products were purified (zwitterion content ≥ 0,95) and characterized with gel permeation chromatography, viscometry, static and dynamic light scattering and small-angle neutron scattering. In unpolar solvents as toluene, the polymeric zwitterions form clusters with molecular weights depending on concentration. This review explores the current state‐of‐the‐art for functional photoactive hybrids containing inorganic nanoparticles (magnetic and metal) and conjugated organic porous polymers (CPPs). Albeit new in the field, with the first hybrid material of this kind reported in 2012, those materials have gained increasing interest in applications such as sensing, heterogeneous catalysis, photocatalysis, and lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs). This review describes the two main synthetic strategies for those materials, namely, 1) using the chemical and morphological features (e.g., porosity and complexation sites) of CPPs to in situ form nanoparticles and 2) fabricating the nanoparticle for templating CPPs.…

Abstract The photooxidation behavior of a commercial starch-based biodegradable polymer, i.e., new generation Mater-Bi, loaded with natural stabilizers was investigated in consideration for outdoor agricultural applications. The photooxidation behavior of the biodegradable films was monitored mainly by mechanical tests and spectroscopic analysis. In order to formulate biodegradable films without any synthetic compounds, suitable for outdoor applications and with good photooxidation stability, antioxidants such as α-tocopherol and quercetin (Q) were considered. A light induced, transition-metal-free C-C coupling reaction of 2-chlorobenzazoles with aliphatic carbamates, alcohols, and ethers is presented. Inexpensive reagents, namely sodium acetate, benzophenone, water, and acetonitrile, are employed in a simple reaction protocol using a cheap and widely available 25 W energy saving UV-A lamp at ambient temperature.

A series of pentadentate ligands N-X-5LH2 (X=H, Methyl, Benzyl)=N-X-saldptn (4-X-N,N′-bis(l-hydroxy-2-benzylidene)-1,7-diamino-4-azaheptane) has been prepared by a Schiff base condensation between 1,7-diamino-4-X-azaheptane and salicylaldehyde. Complexation with Fe(III) yields a series of high-spin (S=5/2) complexes of [FeIII(N-X-5L)Cl]. Such precursors were combined with [Mo(CN)8]4− and a series of blue nonanuclear cluster compounds [MoIV(CN)FeIII(N-X-5L)8]Cl4 resulted. Efficient synthesis of 2-bromo-1-[18F]fluoroethane and its application in the automated preparation of 18F-fluoroethylated compounds

An efficient synthesis of 2-bromo-1-[18F]fluoroethane from commercially available 1,2-dibromoethane and its integration into an automated preparation device was developed for the routine synthesis of 18F-fluoroethylated compounds. The 1,2-dibromoethane was reacted with the [18F]fluoride/Kryptofix 2.2.2./carbonate complex in acetonitrile at 70 degrees C for 3 min resulting in 60-70% radiochemical yields. The crude reaction mixture was diluted with water, loaded on a LiChrolute EN-cartridge, eluted with acetonitrile and passed through an AluminaB-cartridge. Abstract The synthesis of fluorous (highly fluorinated) 3,4-dihydro-2(1 H )-pyridone-5-carboxylate cationic amphiphiles have been described, where the dihydropyridone serves as a spacer and either a pyridinium bromide or a triphenylphosphonium bromide form the polar cationic head group.
