The preparation and structural characterization of three new copper(II) complexes of formula [Cu(3)(dipyatriz)(2)(H(2)O)(3)](ClO(4))(6) x 2 H(2)O (1), {[Cu(4)(dipyatriz)(2)(H(2)O)(2)(NO(3))(2)(ox)(2)](NO(3))(2) x 2 H(2)O}(n) (2), and [Cu(6)(dipyatriz)(2)(H(2)O)(9)(NO(3))(3)(ox)(3)](NO(3))(3) x 4 H(2)O (3) [dipyatriz = 2,4,6-tris(di-2-pyridylamine)-1,3,5-triazine and ox = oxalate] are reported. The structure of 1 consists of trinuclear units [Cu(3)(dipyatriz)(2)(H(2)O)(3)](6+) and uncoordinated perchlorate anions. Testing the stationarity of interest rates using a SUR approach

Abstract Using data on average yields to maturity of German bonds with different time to maturity it is shown that the time series contain a unit root if the standard augmented Dickey–Fuller test is applied separately to each series. To improve the power of the test we carried out a recently developed approach, estimating the regressions for each time to maturity jointly using a seemingly unrelated regressions approach.
Sticky-price models and the natural rate hypothesis

Abstract A major criticism of standard specifications of price adjustment in models for monetary policy analysis is that they violate the natural rate hypothesis by allowing output to differ from potential in steady state. In this paper we estimate a dynamic optimizing business cycle model whose price-setting behavior satisfies the natural rate hypothesis. Approximation of Pore Space with Ellipsoids: A Comparison of a Geometrical Method with a Statistical one

We work with tomographic images of pore space in soil. The images have large dimensions and so in order to speed-up biological simulations (as drainage or diffusion process in soil), we want to describe the pore space with a number of geometrical primitives significantly smaller than the number of voxels in pore space. In this paper, we use the curve skeleton of a volume to segment it into some regions. We describe the method to compute the curve skeleton and to segment it with a simple segment approximation. We approximate each obtained region with an ellipsoid. The set of final ellipsoids represents the geometry of pore space and will be used in future simulations. We compare this method …
Above-bandgap ordinary optical properties of GaSe single crystal

We report above-bandgap ordinary optical properties of ε-phase GaSe single crystal. Reference-quality pseudodielectric function 〈ε(E)〉 = 〈ε1(E)〉+i〈ε2(E)〉 and pseudorefractive index 〈N(E)〉 = 〈n(E)〉+i〈k(E)〉 spectra were measured by spectroscopic ellipsometry from 0.73 to 6.45 eV at room temperature for the light polarization perpendicular to the optic axis (math⊥math). The 〈ε〉 spectrum exhibited several interband-transition critical-point structures. Analysis of second-energy derivatives calculated numerically from the measured data yielded the critical-point energy values. Carmen.Martinez-Tomas@uv.es
Compressive behaviour of concrete elliptical columns confined by single hoops

The compressive behaviour of short concrete members having elliptical cross-sections and confined with single steel hoops is investigated. An analytical model is given for calculation of the stress-strain curves of compressed members also including the valuation of the ultimate stress corresponding to formation of a complete failure plane in the concrete core. The model is able to evaluate the confining pressure due to steel hoops referring to a fictitious reduced area of the confined core and to the effective stresses in the hoops, which are variable along the perimeter; moreover, it makes it possible to determine the maximum compressive strength and the corresponding strain of the confine…
Characterization of postural control impairment in women with fibromyalgia

[EN] The main goal of this cross-sectional study was to detect whether women with fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) have altered postural control and to study the sensory contribution to postural control. We also explored the possibility that self-induced anxiety and lower limb strength may be related to postural control. For this purpose, 129 women within an age range of 40 to 70 years were enrolled. Eighty of the enrolled women had FMS. Šī bakalaura darba mērķis ir alternatīvās vēstures literārā žanra definēšana, salīdzinot alternatīvās vēstures pazīmes divos romānos un risinot jautājumu par alternatīvās vēstures žanra izpēti literārajās studijās, kā arī raksturot šajās studijās gūto pieredzi.
