The purpose of this study is to describe the genre of an expository history essay. The data consist of 52 document-based essays that were written as a part of a history exam at a Finnish general upper secondary school. In this article, I analyse the functional structure of these essays using genre-theoretical move-analysis in a framework of genre theories and disciplinary literacies. Three different moves and six steps were found. The communicative functions of these structural elements were to contextualize the historical content of the essays, to analyse historical documents, and to use the analysis for supporting the chosen argument. Lukion opetussuunnitelman perusteisiin (Opetushallitus, 2015) on sisällytetty Monilukutaidot ja media -aihekokonaisuus, jossa monilukutaito määritellään taitoina tulkita ja tuottaa erilaisia tekstejä. Jokaisen opettajan odotetaan opettavan oman tiedonalansa tekstitaitoja, joiden alakohtaisuus pohjaa tiedonmuodostuksen käytänteisiin. Tällä korostetaan eri oppiaineiden sisältötiedon hallinnan lisäksi myös tekstitaitojen kehittymistä kaikissa oppiaineissa. Foto-literārais fenomens Francijas kultūrā: fotogrāfiju un tekstu mijiedarbības analīze mūsdienu mākslas darbos

Šis darbs ir pētījums par attēla un teksta mijiedarbību mūsdienu franču fotoliterārajos darbos. Šī darba mērķis ir analizēt saikni starp tekstu un fotogrāfisko tēlu un izpētīt teksta vai fotogrāfijas klātbūtnes ietekmi uz foto-literārajiem darbiem. Teorētisko korpusu veido tādu pētnieku kā Roland Barthes, Jean-Paul Sartre, Ferdinand de Saussure, Charles Pierce un Groupe μ zinātniskie darbi. Praktiskajā daļā tiek analizēti mūsdienu franču mākslinieku foto-literārarie darbi. Šajā pētījumā tiek izmantota aprakstoša, kvalitatīva un ikonogrāfiska analīzes. Lai apkopotu iegūtos rezultātus, esam izstrādājuši foto literārā darba klasifikācijas kritērijus.

Distance learning introduced in almost all educational establishments in spring 2020 has raised interest among researchers how to deal with it in a more productive way. Thus, the goal of the research was to find out undergraduates’ views on distance learning of English grammar and the use of online revision materials in developing students’ independent study skills at a tertiary institution in Latvia. the research tool was a questionnaire consisting of open-ended and closed questions.
