In the year 1903 Manuel de Montoliu published the first Catalan version, in prose and poetry, of "La Vida Nova", which meant an important stage within the history of pre-Raphaelitism and modernism in Catalonia. In this article the first Dantesque influences in the poetic production of the translator will be detected, the stage of preparation and of presentation of the text will be analysed and, finally, the article will study the progressions that the exegesis of Dante's work determines in Montoliu's thought. L'opera narrativa di Ismail Kadare è tra le più importanti della letteratura contemporanea albanese. L'analisi condotta nel saggio ne illumina il percorso e ne rintraccia le influenze in un quadro epistemologico comparato e allo scopo di differenziarla dalla cosiddetta prassi del realismo socialista. Ismail Kadare's narrative work is among the most important in contemporary Albanian literature. The analysis conducted in the essay illuminates its path and traces its influences in a comparative epistemological framework and in order to differentiate it from the so-called praxis of socialist realism.

Abstract The purpose of this work is to demonstrate the absurdity of the Marxist-Leninist-Stalinist means of re-education, which left a deep imprint on the history of Romanians by condemning not only the physical but also the spiritual death of the people. Progeny of “Sir Thaddeus” (1897), a less known essay by literary critic Cezary Jellenta [Napoleon Hirszband], presents an interesting attempt to discern and estimate novels of the 19th century Polish realists as originated from the great Mickiewicz’s poem. According to Jellenta, there are several social, national or aesthetic parallels existing between this famous epic work – a kind of architext and paradigm of Polish culture in general – and the well-known texts by Prus, Orzeszkowa, Sienkiewicz, Konopnicka or Witkiewicz, as well the unknown novel of Galician writer Alfred Nossig. The article titled Artists and Philistines, published in 1897 in the “Kurier Niedzielny”, a moderated weekly with a compromising orientation (publisher: Maria Chełmońska, editors: Ludomir Grendyszyński), is an example of a voice about artist-society relationship typical of the end of the century. The article is an attempt to recognize Julian Kornhauser’s critical idiom in the first decade of 21st century. The author takes steps to inscribe the critical project of The Inner World author into the congenial paradigm of the French thematic school (borders of empathy and identification, fascination and understanding, authenticity), and to pinpoint the basic ideas that Kornhauser’s critical thought circulates around (the issue of authenticity and identity of a poem persona and a critic).
