Il contributo verte sul ritratto lucaneo di Medusa esaminato in rapporto al precedente ovidiano delle Metamorfosi e al profilo virgiliano di Alletto. La sinossi fra queste raffigurazioni è peraltro arricchita da un confronto ulteriore, la descrizione ovidiana di Tisifone contenuta nel IV libro delle Metamorfosi.In particolar modo vengono analizzati la descrizione del paesaggio dominato dalla Gorgone, speculare rispetto alla sua fisionomia orrida, e il volto del mostro, costruito con sagace Mosaiktechnik.

Low-dimensional hybrid organic–inorganic metal halide perovskites are rapidly emerging as a fascinating sub-class of the three-dimensional parent structures, thanks to their appealing charge and thermal transport properties, paired to better chemical and thermal stabilities. For painful, dysfunctional, posttraumatic metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joints, the free vascularized toe joint transfer may represent a good solution. Successful reconstruction is potentially limited, however, by 2 features of the traditional vascularized metatarsophalangeal (MTP) transfer: inadequate arc of flexion and insufficient soft tissue coverage. The solution to both of these dilemmas lies in the manner of utilizing the donor site. Because of its innate hyperextensibility, rotating the MTP 180° volar to dorsal provides the greatest arc of flexion in the reconstructed MCP. Actinomadura pelletieri mycetoma--an atypical case with spine and abdominal wall involvement.

We describe a case of mycetoma caused by Actinomadura pelletieri with simultaneous involvement of the spine, abdominal wall and retroperitoneal space in a man who had suffered from ‘Madura foot’ 10 years earlier. The characteristics of this case were analysed and contextualized among those of other cases of mycetoma caused by other micro-organisms found through a review of the international literature. The rarity of the disease in industrialized countries and its possible atypical presentations may hinder a prompt diagnosis. Abstract Over the past few years, much interest has been placed into the investigation of increased barrier and mechanical properties of protein films via a multitude of approaches. Generally, these techniques involve modifications of interactions among protein molecules, such as ionic crosslinking using divalent ions. To evaluate the crosslinking effect of Ca 2+ cations, films were made from calcium caseinate (CaCAS) and/or sodium caseinate (NaCAS). Identification of Colletotrichum species responsible for anthracnose of strawberry based on the internal transcribed spacers of the ribosomal region.

In recent years, different molecular techniques have led to an important progress in the characterisation of Colletotrichum species, but there are no available methods which permit the easy identification of Colletotrichum strains and their assignation to classical species. In the present work, the restriction patterns generated from the region spanning the internal transcribed spacers (ITS1 and ITS2) and the 5.8S rRNA gene, were used to identify a total of 80 strains of Colletotrichum, the majority of them isolated from strawberry. The Influence of The Degree of Grinding to Obtain of Some Fermented Mashes Based on Whole Wheat and Husked Millet

The purpose of this article was to study the influence of degree of milling whole wheat (was ground in 4 variants of grain) and husked millet (was finely ground) to obtain fermented mashes type Braga. There have been 4 mashes of grist of whole wheat, grist husked millet, hop pellets and water and were boiled under continuous stirring and then cooled. Their content has diluted with water and then strainer by pressed through a sieve. Each mash-filtrate has divided in two and added white sugar 7%, resulting two series of sweet mashes. Isoflavones and Rotenoids from the Leaves of Millettia oblata ssp. teitensis

A new isoflavone, 8-prenylmilldrone (1), and four new rotenoids, oblarotenoids A−D (2−5), along with nine known compounds (6−14), were isolated from the CH2Cl2/CH3OH (1:1) extract of the leaves of Millettia oblata ssp. teitensis by chromatographic separation. The purified compounds were identified by NMR spectroscopic and mass spectrometric analyses, whereas the absolute configurations of the rotenoids were established on the basis of chiroptical data and in some cases by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. Maximaisoflavone J (11) and oblarotenoid C (4) showed weak activity against the human breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-231 with IC50 values of 33.3 and 93.8 μM, respectively. peerReviewed
