Performance and energy optimisation in CPUs through fuzzy knowledge representation

2019

Abstract This paper presents an automatic design space exploration using processor design knowledge for the multi-objective optimisation of a superscalar microarchitecture enhanced with selective load value prediction (SLVP). We introduced new important SLVP parameters and determined their influence regarding performance, energy consumption, and thermal dissipation. We significantly enlarged initial processor design knowledge expressed through fuzzy rules and we analysed its role in the process of automatic design space exploration. The proposed fuzzy rules improve the diversity and quality of solutions, and the convergence speed of the design space exploration process. Experiments show tha…

Discovery privacy threats via device de-anonymization in LoRaWAN

2021

LoRaWAN (Long Range WAN) is one of the well-known emerging technologies for the Internet of Things (IoT). Many IoT applications involve simple devices that transmit their data toward network gateways or access points that, in their turn, redirect data to application servers. While several security issues have been addressed in the LoRaWAN specification v1.1, there are still some aspects that may undermine privacy and security of the interconnected IoT devices. In this paper, we tackle a privacy aspect related to LoRaWAN device identity. The proposed approach, by monitoring the network traffic in LoRaWAN, is able to derive, in a probabilistic way, the unique identifier of the IoT device from…

Faceted Search Over RDF-Based Knowledge Graphs

2016

Knowledge graphs such as Yago and Freebase have become a powerful asset for enhancing search, and are being intensively used in both academia and industry. Many existing knowledge graphs are either available as Linked Open Data, or they can be exported as RDF datasets enhanced with background knowledge in the form of an OWL 2 ontology. Faceted search is the de facto approach for exploratory search in many online applications, and has been recently proposed as a suitable paradigm for querying RDF repositories. In this paper, we provide rigorous theoretical underpinnings for faceted search in the context of RDFbased knowledge graphs enhanced with OWL 2 ontologies. We identify well-defined fra…

Searching Silk Fabrics by Images Leveraging on Knowledge Graph and Domain Expert Rules

2021

The production of European silk textile is an endangered intangible cultural heritage. Digital tools can nowadays be developed to help preserving it, or even to make it more accessible for the public and the fashion industry. In this paper, we propose an image-based retrieval tool that leverages on a knowledge graph describing the silk textile production as well as rules formulated by experts of this domain. Out of several possible similarity scenarios, two have proven to work best and have been integrated into an exploratory search engine.

The first authenticated example of triorganotin(IV) perchlorate complexes of some heterocyclic bases

1993

Abstract A convenient method is reported for the synthesis of some novel complexes of composition (R 3 SnL 2 ) ClO 4 where L represents pyridine, γ-picoline, 2,2′-bipyridine and 1,10-phenanthroline; and R  n Bu or Ph. All of the new ionic complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, infrared, multinuclear nuclear magnetic resonance ( 1 H, 13 C and 119 Sn) and 119 Sn Mossbauer spectroscopies. The complexes of composition (R 3 SnL 2 )ClO 4 exist both in solution and in the solid state with trans -trigonal bipyramidal structure where the R-groups occupy the equatorial positions while the ligands are in the axial position.

2018

[EN] In order to motivate the student through a professional experience, and to improve the teaching-learning process by letting the student gain experience, we implement a collaborative learning-through-service methodology. This method increases the student involvement level and the deep understanding of the tools. As a matter of example, we present the implementation of this method in the Final Master Thesis (FMTh) of the Master on Corporate Finance at the University of Valencia (UV). In these FMTh, students have to valuate an actual innovation developed by UV researchers (on chemistry, in this case) with the goal of helping themto transfer (sell) this innovation to the industry. This col…

Schiff-Base Podates – X-ray, NMR and Ab Initio Molecular-Orbital Studies of the Cadmium(II) Complexes of Linear and Three-Armed Podands in Solution a…

1998

Cadmium(II) complexes of two Schiff bases, 1,3-di(pyridine-2-carboxaldimino)propane (C15H16N4, L1)[1] and tris[4-(2′-pyridyl)-3-aza-3-butenyl]amine (C24H27N7, L2)[2] are described. An efficient route utilising molecular sieves for the synthesis of Schiff bases is presented. The ligands L1 and L2 can be described as linear and three-armed podands, respectively, L1 being conformationally flexible and L2 preorganised. Cadmium perchlorate in methanol with L1 yields a crystalline complex [Cd(L1)2](ClO4)2 (1), the structure of which was determined by X-ray structure analysis. The complex 1 has an unusual nonsymmetrical 8-coordinated helical structure and crystallizes in an acentric space group (C…

Synthesis, crystal structure, EXAFS, and magnetic properties of catena [mu-tris(1,2-bis(tetrazol-1-yl)propane-N1,N1')iron(II)] bis(perchlorate). Firs…

2000

[Fe(btzp)3](ClO4)2 (btzp = 1,2-bis(tetrazol-1-yl)propane) represents the first structurally characterized Fe(II) linear chain compound exhibiting thermal spin crossover. It shows a very gradual spin transition (T1/2 = 130 K) which has been followed by magnetic susceptibility measurements and 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy. The structure has been solved at 200 and 100 K by single-crystal X-ray analysis. It crystallizes in the trigonal space group P3c1 with Z = 2 Fe(II) units at both temperatures. The molecular structure consists of chains running along the c axis in which the Fe(II) ions are linked by three N4,N4' coordinating bis(tetrazole) ligands. The main difference between the two forms ap…
