African Immigrants in Finland in Onward Translocal and Transnational Mobility and Migration, and the Political Implications
2016
This article examines the onward translocal and transnational mobility and migration of African immigrants in Finland, and finds that this is because of racism, and hence more of a search for belonging than just for greener pastures. In the process of this mobility/migration, they represent translocal and transnational identities that crisscross translocal and transterritorial spaces, experiencing transcultural practices. Along the way, they acquire transcultural, multicultural, and cosmopolitan skills with which they negotiate their identities and belonging in the places they visit or reside. This article argues that these multifaceted forms of mobility and migration say something about ne…
Locality of order-invariant first-order formulas
2000
A query is local if the decision of whether a tuple in a structure satisfies this query only depends on a small neighborhood of the tuple. We prove that all queries expressible by order-invariant first-order formulas are local.

Rediscovery of the allegedly “destroyed” holotype of Weltrichia fabrei Saporta, 1891 from the Rhaetian?/Hettangian of Lozère (Southern France)
2018
7 pages; International audience; A sandstone slab bearing plant macro-remains was rediscovered during recent investigations led in the buildings of the old Musée Ignon-Fabre (Mende) which were closed in 1995 and emptied in 2003. The study of the slab clearly allows it to be identified as the holotype of Weltrichia fabrei Saporta, 1891 which has been considered destroyed since the end of the 20th Century. Gaston de Saporta described this Bennettitalean fructification based on a cast and considered the type locality as Rhaetian in age. In the present paper, based on the holotype, W. fabrei was revised in order to describe and illustrate the specimen in detail. It consists of a cup with one wh…
Preserving entanglement and nonlocality in solid-state qubits by dynamical decoupling
2014
In this paper we study how to preserve entanglement and nonlocality under dephasing produced by classical noise with large low-frequency components, as $1/f$ noise, by Dynamical Decoupling techniques. We first show that quantifiers of entanglement and nonlocality satisfy a closed relation valid for two independent qubits locally coupled to a generic environment under pure dephasing and starting from a general class of initial states. This result allows to assess the efficiency of pulse-based dynamical decoupling for protecting nonlocal quantum correlations between two qubits subject to pure-dephasing local random telegraph and $1/f$-noise. We investigate the efficiency of an "entanglement m…
Fossil remains of Macaca sylvanus florentina (Cocchi, 1872) (Primates, Cercopithecidae) from the Early Pleistocene of Quibas (Murcia, Spain)
2011
The macaque material from the Early Pleistocene site of Quibas (Albanilla, Murcia, Spain), including dentognathic remains, isolated teeth and some postcranial bone fragments, is described. Both metrically and morphologically, this sample must be attributed to Macaca sylvanus (the Barbary macaque). This species is currently distributed through North Africa and Gibraltar, but was much more widely distributed during the Plio-Pleistocene, being represented by several European fossil subspecies. Metrical comparisons of dental size and proportions between extant M. s. sylvanus and fossil Macaca sylvanus florentina from the type locality and other Italian sites are undertaken, in order to classify…
The taxonomy ofOreosparte(Apocynaceae: Asclepiadoideae)
2013
Oreosparte is a monotypic genus described as bearing strong similarities to Hoya (Marsdenieae), but separated from it based on the presence of a campanulate corolla with a contracted throat and lanceolate, spreading lobes. Its type specimen was destroyed during the fire at the Berlin herbarium in 1943. So far no suitable lectotype or further specimens belonging to the taxon were located. We report the finding of one specimen of Oreosparte collected from the type locality, allowing the selection of a neotype, to provide an extended description, and discussion of the morphological affinities with Hoya. Based on its morphology, despite being probably closely related to Hoya, we suggest that Or…
Ultra-nonlocality in density functional theory for photo-emission spectroscopy.
2014
We derive an exact expression for the photo-current of photo-emission spectroscopy using time-dependent current density functional theory (TDCDFT). This expression is given as an integral over the Kohn-Sham spectral function renormalized by effective potentials that depend on the exchange-correlation kernel of current density functional theory. We analyze in detail the physical content of this expression by making a connection between the density-functional expression and the diagrammatic expansion of the photo-current within many-body perturbation theory. We further demonstrate that the density functional expression does not provide us with information on the kinetic energy distribution of…
Nonlocal properties of dynamical three-body Casimir-Polder forces
2005
We consider the three-body Casimir-Polder interaction between three atoms during their dynamical self-dressing. We show that the time-dependent three-body Casimir-Polder interaction energy displays nonlocal features related to quantum properties of the electromagnetic field and to the nonlocality of spatial field correlations. We discuss the measurability of this intriguing phenomenon and its relation with the usual concept of stationary three-body forces.
The relational marketing and confidence like strategies of the entrepreneurship
2019
The economic changes do that the individuals look for alternatives of production of property or services, for it the entrepreneurial appear as an option of individual sustenance and in some cases relative along the history, nevertheless they arise in conditions that are not the suitable ones; nevertheless, the public policies as, like in case of the Ecuador they seek in an emergent way to stimulate this sector of the economy. In search of the development the entrepreneurs implement tacit actions that are own of the Relational Marketing, which in this particular case there have identified that manage confidence relations. These contex like the contacts between(among) two or more persons, who…
