Naming MINERALITY of French white wines : a contrastive study on the emergence of a " new " wine descriptor

2016

International audience; [Context] MINERAL / MINERALITY has emerged in wine prescriptive and descriptive discourses for about 20 years, especially to characterize special kinds of French white wines like Chablis in Northern Burgundy. Despite its very popular use by both experts and consumers, it still lacks a terminological definition that would be accepted by all wine professionals. For this reason, a research program was conducted in the last two years by an interdisciplinary team at the University of Burgundy and the Wine School of Changins (Switzerland) in order to cross semantic and sensory data enabling the establishment of a prototypical definition.[Aims] Building on the results of th…

Regulation of PCAF Activity by Spermidine

2011

Histones and polyamines are important determinants of chromatin structure. Histones are the core of nucleosome particles and their modification by acetylation of N-terminal tails is involved in chromatin structural changes and transcriptional modulation. Polyamines also, including spermidine, are targets of both nuclear and cytoplasmic acetylation, which in turn alters their affinity for DNA and nucleosomes. Previous studies report an interplay existing between polyamines metabolism and levels, and histone acetylation. The relationship between polyamines and histone epigenetics in vivo has been considered in various models of ageing through epigenetic modifications, induction of autophagy a…

Large-Eddy Simulation in LSPIV techniques: the study of surface turbolence

2021

In recent years, technological advances have been observed in environmental monitoring field, leading to a rapid spread of innovative technologies overcoming many historical challenges. In river monitoring field the use of image-based techniques provides non-intrusive measurements ensuring the best safety conditions for operators. The most used optical methods are the Large-Scale Particle Image Velocimetry (LSPIV) and the Large-Scale Particle Tracking Velocimetry (LSPTV).

In LSPIV and LSPTV techniques a floating tracer is introduced on the water surface and its motion is recorded by commercial devices (e.g. digital cameras). Raising awareness on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through Lego Serious Play (LSP)

2020

[EN] In September 2015, world leaders agreed on a new sustainable development agenda based on a set of global goals aimed at eradicating poverty, ensuring planet protection and guaranteeing prosperity for future generations (Stafford-Smith et al., 2017). Since then, the education sector has played a fundamental role, not only raising awareness among young people about the importance of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) but also promoting innovative ideas around sustainability (Owens, 2017). SDGs implementation needs of business actors rethinking their understanding of economic growth, taking into consideration not only economic aspects but also social and ecological concerns (Crespo et a…

Study of the dynamics of biomolecules by high speed atomic force microscopy and surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy

2015

This thesis focuses on the coupling of High–Speed Atomic Force Microscopy (HS-AFM) and Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) for biomolecule analysis. We have designed a fabrication protocol to manufacture “SERS-active” substrates. The efficacy of gold, silver and gold-silver bimetallic crystalline nanoparticle substrates were evaluated. We have investigated the impact of optical and morphological features of the substrates on Raman signal intensity by analyzing well-known samples such as bipyridine ethylene and methylene blue molecules. We took an interest in three distinct biological problematics with HS-AFM and SERS analyses. First, we have detected the chemical signature of cytochr…
