The Crises Management faced with new Challenges

We witness an economic crisis without precedent that affects every area of our existence, rich and poor, at a global scale. The noise of financial crisis makes us no longer perceive other crises, which no one seems ready to accept them, namely a crisis of values that proliferate in our society. The experience of the past crises shows that the recession affecting mainly local companies, multinational companies managed to make profits during hard times for the economy of the host country, and the management is put in front of new challenges.

Globalization is creating the need for new ways of understanding, managing and coping with culture differences. Corporations should take into account these differences when fundamenting their international strategies, even in regard to their business ethic and social responsibility goals. Se plantean los orígenes, evolución y clasificación de los grupos de interés (stakeholders). Se pone de relieve la relación que se entabla entre la entidad de crédito como organización social y sus diferentes grupos de interés, analizándose la importancia que se asigna a estos. El trabajo de campo se realizó a través de una encuesta contestada por 57 entidades de crédito españolas. Cet article s'intéresse au phénomène d'instrumentalisation des valeurs fondamentales de l'entreprise comme force d'homogénéisation. Ce besoin semble répondre à la nécessité de construire une identité sociale. La démarche du groupe Fournier est explicitée dans le cadre d'une approche "Ressources". L'analyse des conditions de réussite de cette démarche met en évidence la nécessité pour l'entreprise de parvenir à maintenir une cohérence d'ensemble de sa politique générale et de réduire l'inévitable tension entre l'idéal et le réel.

The study of corporate ethics reported in this article sheds light on the content and status of 50 formal ethical statements in large France based companies. Content analysis (with SPAD.T software) reveals potentially divergent view among companies as to the primary nature and purpose of a corporate ethics document. On the one hand, codes contain detailed rules and guidelines devoted to employee conduct. Their objective is to make sure that employees strictly abide by the firm's rules. Adaptación al castellano y estructura factorial del Denison Organizational Culture Survey

[EN]: This article presents a Spanish adaptation of the Denison Organizational Culture Survey, a questionnaire designed to evaluate organizational culture. This survey consists of 60 items, grouped in 12 subscales, which identify 4 cultural dimensions. These dimensions have been widely studied and their influence in organizational effectiveness has been accepted. This adaptation was applied to 488 participants, and analysed with confirmatory factor analysis. Results show adequate psychometric properties, so it can be concluded that the Spanish adaptation almost completely replicates the structure of the original version in English. © 2009 Psicothema.

Transnational corporations (TNCs) are the leading actors of the global economic scene; so their strategic behaviors tend to be followed by their challengers - in search for global competitiveness. Therefore (and in spite of some well known blunders and slippages), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) may have the vocation to become a generalized dimension of the corporate strategy - as well as an answer to some of the very thorny problems facing the humankind. The aim of the paper is to analyze the attitudes toward CSR of the world's top TNCs, in order to see if there is a pattern regarding their strategies.
